This is a stressful night for all Iranians. My family and I have huddled together, having spent all our money stocking up on non-spoiling necessities. We're now completely out of funds as people are not getting paid. Unsure what the next few hours will bring — but we are as ready as we’ll ever be. Whatever happens, as long as enough of Iran remains to save, we Iranians will rise up and topple this regime. If the electricity goes out, so does our internet. Even my Starlink won’t work then. If that happens, I want to thank @Starlink for being a most welcome light in our darkness. Every single piece of real information that has ever come out of Iran — whether directly or indirectly through VPNs like V2ray that first connect via Starlink — has only been possible because of Starlink. Everything else is just regime propaganda from agents with their special white SIM cards that have unrestricted access. The Islamic Republic worships death and kills its own citizens with impunity. I pray that president Trump delivers on his promise, and that the US and Israel level the playing field so we can finally deal with the regime — without destroying too much of Iran, so there’s still something left to save and rebuild. Trump's words are usually extreme, so I hope "end of a civilization" is just scare tactics. Soon, this nightmare of evil will end. I know it in my heart. #DigitalBlackOutIran #IranMassacre

Trump is in a weird spot with Iran now.
Half the base wants him to go in and finish off the regime, but that could take months and greatly jeopardize the already-fragile midterms. If he leaves early and the regime remains in place, they argue, it was all for naught.
The other half insists he wrap up the war immediately or he risks embroiling the country in yet another Middle East quagmire, and by extension further hurting the markets and driving up prices.
Probably no good answers here, but I lean toward the latter simply because the Iranian government is likely damaged beyond repair and babysitting such a huge country is an unnecessarily risky and complicated venture.
At some point we have to return to the homefront if we are to realize the Golden Age we were promised.
Don’t get me wrong: best foreign policy President since Reagan, or maybe ever, but November will be here before we know it and a Dem victory jeopardizes his entire agenda.
Of course there’s some housekeeping we must take care of before heading home, but if history is any guide the sooner we plot an exit strategy the better.

My statement re Prohibiting the Latin Patriarch of entering Church of Holy Sepulcher on Palm Sunday:
While all Holy sites in the Old City are closed due to safety concerns for mass gatherings including the Western Wall, Church of the Holy Sepulcher and Al Aqsa Mosque, the action today by the Israel Nat'l Police to deny Latin Patriarch Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa and 3 other priests from entering the Church to offer a blessing on Palm Sunday is an unfortunate overreach already having major repercussions around the world. Home Front Command Guidelines restrict any gatherings to 50 people or less. The 4 representatives of the Catholic Church were well below that restriction. Statements from the Gov't of Israel indicate the action to prohibit Cardinal Pizzaballa entry to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher were for safety reasons, but churches, synagogues, and mosques throughout Jerusalem have met with the restrictions of 50 or less. For the Patriarch to be barred from entry to the Church on Palm Sunday for a private ceremony is difficult to understand or justify. Israel has indicated it will work with the Patriarch to accommodate a safe means of carrying out Holy Week activities.

Brother, you do know we got much of the cannon from Catholics, right? They were canonizing books a millennia before the Reformation. I believe St. Jerome was even the first to translate the entire Old Testament from Hebrew into Latin -- the language of The Church at the time.
