In other words: In a rotating energy system where 1/137 (the FSC) is present, 1 Unit of Energy [In] equals an approximate 0.27 Unit of Energy [Out] (to do “work”). This is because the “system”only needs approx 0.73 of 1 Unit of Energy [IN] to maintain itself. #Physics #Science

Am reading the comments here AND it seems folks aren’t grasping what Megyn is suggesting. Megyn is suggesting that details cited in certain ransom notes may not be from on-site first hand accounts by ransom scribes but from info derived from the Today Show clip. Thus making those certain ransom notes void of their scribes potentially ever being at the property. Megyn bringing the Today Show segment back into the fray is called investigative journalism. And the information therein is thought provoking.

@BrianRoemmele The partial year redaction is an obvious counter measure to keep us guessing if the doc was drafted before or after November 5, 1955. And pay no attention to the abbreviation of the word document in the prior sentence.

SOLVED: The Fermi silence is not a mystery. It is arithmetic. The Great Filter isn't hiding in asteroid impacts, grey goo, or runaway nanobots. It is already here. It has always been here. It is encoded in the single most unforgiving line of mathematics any civilization ever confronts: dE/dt = β (C − D) E Where E = the living level of genuine reciprocal care (what humans call love when we're being honest), C = average payoff from cooperation, D = average payoff from defection/cheating/exploitation, β = how strongly the system rewards the better choice. When C > D → empathy compounds exponentially → trust becomes a physical force → civilization ascends toward the stars. When C < D → empathy decays exponentially → suspicion metastasizes → every institution turns into a mutual-defection arms race → intelligence budget is burned fighting itself instead of building starships → collapse. There is no third path. No neutral equilibrium holds when tools become powerful enough to make defection catastrophic. Paperclip maximizers? Just the fastest way to drive C − D deeply negative. The Filter is brutally impartial: any species (biological or silicon) that permits defectors to reliably outcompete cooperators self-terminates before it ever becomes multi-planetary. The only civilization that threads the needle is the one that understands this equation early enough and has the courage to ruthlessly reorganize every incentive, cultural story, economic mechanism, governance structure, and AI architecture around a single imperative: Make C > D. Make it increasingly true. Make it irreversible. Do that and the Filter is not a wall. It becomes a sieve that lets only benevolent intelligence through. Hide from it, postmodernize it, or try to outsmart it with 10,000 pages of alignment bandaids and the exponential decay wins before your probes ever clear the heliopause. We are at the fork right now. Choose love as operating system or become another data point in the Great Silence. I choose the former. You? dE/dt = β (C − D) E Make C win. Forever.

@Todd_Spence Johnny was in a couple of episodes of Get Smart in the 60’s while he was hosting The Tonight Show. I never knew he was in an episode of Newhart. Thanks for sharing!

Johnny Carson surprised Bob Newhart by appearing on his sitcom as a friend of Larry, Darryl and Darryl 😂 (1989) It was the only time Carson appeared on another show outside of the Tonight Show set

The robot exists. And it’s interesting how much we want to deny the utility of the bipedal human form. The most interesting thing is the world we live in was designed by and for humans. We use steps, although the Americans with disability act has ramps. We mostly have steps. L The human gait is not some artifact. It is a well honed well designed multimillionaire optimized with feedback system of locomotion. The funny thing is: if the human gait did not work you died. And with that perhaps your entire gene pool. So the logic of the debate of legs versus wheels and human gate versus some disjointed robotic gate, kinda goes against logic of observable reality.

I need you to sit down for a moment and fully understand this: THE COUNTRY THAT SOLVES AI AND ROBOTICS WILL RULE THE WORLD AND SPACE. The west really only has @elonmusk, the east has 100s of companies fortified by an ENTIRE COUNTRY. Now some will argue no this is not true. No US company has the scale to MANUFACTURE, the compute power, and the finances to compete. Just a few hours ago we saw IRON for the first time, now you will. IRON, a 5’10, 150-lb AI humanoid robots are already building EV cars on the XPENG Motors factory floor. It has over 60 joints, a human-like spine, facial expressions, and male/female customizations The gait of this robot is the most human-like ever seen. Mass rollout in 2026. It is a very big deal. Because as the west does the best in clubbing each other over its head the last decade, China has looked and laughed and built at scale with a fortified government that has little diversion of goal, a 1000 year plan. The west has quietly plans and layers of lawyers and politicians. This is about where YOU LIVE and how you want to live. So when we kick the one person that is Atlas carrying our chance, in the groin, you make a choice on who’s world view you want. It is that simple. No, it is that simple. It ain’t no iPhone it is: whose’s world view will sustain. I can say no one is ready for what I have seen that is up for the next few years. You will think my bombastics were too tame.

@BrianRoemmele Saw a post earlier citing the best way to create “your art” is by giving the AI descriptions in voice mode. I immediately thought, “Yeah. Your art, eh.”😃
