Stop looking for Burnhamism - in six years, I’ve never found. Watching the mayor up close in Manchester, I’ve seen his unusual gifts and glaring weaknesses. Would he make a good prime minister? Our weekend read - by @joshi manchestermill.co.uk/stop-looking-f…

"Your tickets are secure, are you f**king sure" Despite Manchester United’s assurances that digital NFC tickets are fully secure, a major flaw in the @SeatGeek ticketing platform leaves supporters highly vulnerable to unauthorised access. By knowing a fan's Supporter ID and just their surname or postcode, anyone can unauthorisedly view, download, and use their tickets without the owners knowledge. This has already resulted in legitimate ticket holders being turned away at both home and away matches because their tickets had already been scanned. The issue was deliberately kept quiet during the season to minimise disruption, but with the Premier League aiming for fully digital tickets next season, it must be prioritised over the summer. The risk is exacerbated by a club culture where fans have widely shared their Supporter IDs for ticket-forwarding purposes, and instances where Manchester United emails have inadvertently exposed this information. The author urges @SeatGeek and the club to implement a secure, user-led authorizlsation process rather than relying on flawed off-the-shelf solutions. To read more click here: open.substack.com/pub/cheesesofn… Please repost, this is important for all clubs now digital ticket is the future, not just #MUFC

Manchester City, the BBC says, haven't yet sold their 6,000 home allocation of tickets for tonight's FA Youth Cup final against United. United. City said the final had to be switched to their titchy 7,000-seat training ground because main stadium has construction work - yeah!

2) Yes, the scene above did really happen; however, the curious thing is that Argentine officially had no troops in town who could have been fighting, yet they popped up the second it all kicked off: they were everywhere and evidently infiltrated in before the invasion.

April 2nd 1982: Groups of Royal Marines are now battling Argentine assailants in Stanley itself, who pop up from empty houses and gardens. Here is the famous scene from the battle: "Would you like a cup of tea, boys?" - "Get down, you silly b*tch, there's an invasion on!" 1/2

You’re wrong. One carrier (Elizabeth) is in Rosyth undergoing serious maintenance, which is several months behind schedule. Many months before it could be deployed. The other (PofW) is closer to operational but still undergoing work in Portsmouth. Decision taken not to deploy to Middle East (no escort ships to make up carrier fleet) but scheduled for North Atlantic/High Frontier NATO exercise, with NATO providing rest of carrier fleet. What warships that are operational have I missed out?
Mal Content.@RushtonMalc

@afneil @SimonHu86752739 I enjoy your analysis style usually but come on…for a start one Aircraft carrier IS on operational duty in the North Atlantic. The other in for maintenance. As for battleships…well we haven’t had one since Vanguard in 1960. Other vessels are operational.

🗣️Old Trafford: Stolen in Plain Sight Supporters asked to engage with a process that offered limited transparency and no meaningful opportunity to scrutinise key assumptions, financial models, or long term impacts. Engagement through pre selected forums without genuine challenge risked exactly what it became, a rubber stamping exercise rather than an open consultation. The club in full PR mode wheeling out all the bollocks when we all know this is nothing more than sacrificing our home at the altar of greed. Old Trafford is all we have left our history, our home, our identity and now even that is being chipped away, piece by piece. The Americanisation of the game, the dilution of fan culture, the pricing out of generational supporters. It’s not just change, it’s loss. The 1958 🇾🇪

Tomorrow my daughter turns 13. I haven’t seen her since March 2019, a week before she turned 6. I always say “helping others helps me” and what I mean by that is this. Not seeing your child is hard, it’s the hardest thing I’ve ever faves but I have learnt to cope. She is my life

The more ridiculous the costs get, the higher the pressure to get greedy investors on board to finance it. The more the pressure for hospitality and premium seating to provide a return. The more Utd moves away from its core mission as a social institution. The less the point

AVRAM GLAZER became chairman of Innovate Corp two years ago. Yesterday's results show shares are sinking like a stone👇. He sold $95m of United shares in early 2021 to help him build a 29% stake in Innovate on which he has made huge paper losses. 🙄👉🗑️ uk.sports.yahoo.com/news/past-five…
