Give value even when it's free....
Yes, free.
I've educated several university students for the past 5 years for free on:
- how to leverage AI for learning and research
- web3 education (crypto trading and jobs)
- financial literacy
- personal branding
Yet not up to 10% applied what I shared with them. Some did but weren't consistent. Those who did consistently go results.
What they didn't know is that, everything I was sharing free I didn't get them free.
Some were from mentorships Paid for because I can afford.
Others came from trial and error which isn't free. It comes with a cost.
I have come to a realization that, if you give value for free, not everyone sees it as golden as you perceive it. Not upto 10% might apply it now or in the future but a few will.
Your focus shouldn't be on the masses because you aren't going to get them all applying it. Keep sharing for the few who will. Change takes time.
When you're on the job market hunting, you use this approach as well. Look for challenges some businesses are facing and propose the solution. When they show interest you propose for a gig and sometimes it works.
I propose a solution for a brand building a community in Africa. They showed interest but I didn't get a job, I got access that's equally valuable.
The worst thing is, they'll ghost you which is fine.
