Everyone is talking about agent-to-agent payments. But @davidmarcus thinks the bigger near-term opportunity is different: Not agents paying other agents, but humans safely delegating money movement to agents. There isn’t much agent-to-agent payment volume yet. But there is a world where people want agents to book, buy, transfer, reconcile and execute financial tasks on their behalf. The challenge is control. So @lightspark built what David calls “bonded scope delegation”: A user can bond an agent to a Grid Global account, then define exactly what that agent can and cannot do. Multiple agents. Multiple scopes. One account. This matters more now than ever. Platforms lose billions of dollars a year (each) by letting others reap the economic value they created at the edges. They also use platform data to build credit products and slowly eat into other revenue streams. Time to own the stack!

@davidmarcus led Libra in 2019. 6 years later, Meta have launched stablecoin payouts in Colombia and the Philippines. Why now? Three things have changed: 1. Regulation is finally catching up With the GENIUS Act in the US, MiCA in Europe and similar frameworks globally, large platforms now have clearer rules of the road for digital assets and stablecoins. 2. Wallet UX is dramatically better Embedded wallets and modern cryptography mean users no longer need to deal with seed phrases, mnemonics or the fear of losing private keys. 3. Stablecoin balances are becoming spendable Visa and payment companies leaning into stablecoin-backed cards is a major unlock. In our latest episode of Tokenized, @davidmarcus explains the key lesson from building Libra: you can’t build an open internet for money on a closed, controlled network. The answer, in his view, is to build on neutral rails. Not because customers need to know they’re using Bitcoin. But because Bitcoin can become the invisible settlement layer connecting domestic payment systems, banks, wallets and currencies. A SoFi customer sends dollars to Mexico or India.
