"We have not successfully rolled back the frontiers of the state in Britain only to see them re-imposed at a European level, with a European superstate exercising a new dominance from Brussels." Margaret Thatcher - from 'the Bruges speech' 1988 margaretthatcher.org/document/107332

🚨 BREAKING: A FRANTIC UK PM Keir Starmer just called President Trump about helping secure the Strait of Hormuz He's FEELING the heat! Starmer reportedly is in the "next stage of finding a resolution" This guy has been TOTALLY USELESS to America and is only NOW coming to 47, after the war is won. All of NATO should've acted long ago!

Starmer nipped off the Valencia, John Healey disappeared to the South of France. The PM and Defence Secretary both went on holiday as WW3 threatened to erupt. I’ve got clips here of their own words coming back to haunt them.

We can all see him, John! His illegal ships sailed through the Channel yesterday unmolested. You and Starmer vowed to stop illegal Russian oil tankers using the Channel. Two 'shadow fleet' vessels were off Britain's south coast yesterday, escorted by a Russian warship (frigate Admiral Grigorovich). All the Royal Navy could rustle up was a lightly-armed support ship (RFA Tideforce, an auxiliary tanker) which could do no more than watch them head for the Black Sea as they passed Dover. So much for your government’s promise to 'go after' the sanction-breaking ships 'even harder'. All mouth and no trousers.

John Healey tells Putin: “We see you.” He says threats to the UK’s undersea cables won’t be tolerated

The nut zealotry of Ed Miliband A new occasional series — No 3 Massive Silicon Valley company OpenAI has today paused its major Stargate UK data centre infrastructure project, citing high energy costs and the regulatory environment in the UK. UK industrial energy costs are the highest in the world (thanks, Ed). OpenAI and other AI giants are worried that Starmer’s desire (backed by Ed) to cosy up closer to the EU will mean AI in the UK coming under the Brussels’ regulatory regime, which is killing off AI projects in the EU.
Andrew Neil@afneil

The nut zealotry of Ed Miliband A new occasional series — No 2 At a time when global supply chains are vulnerable and we should be producing much more of our own food, E Miliband has today approved Springwell Solar Farm. It will cover seven square miles of prime Lincolnshire farmland. And the solar panels are likely to come from China (so much for green manufacturing jobs). Mili-Madness on stilts.

The is arse-covering nonsense. The idea we couldn’t send warships to the Mediterranean because they were busy shadowing Russian subs closer by, is ridiculous on so many levels. But let’s just settle for this — Type 45s don’t hunt subs.
Kate Ferguson@kateferguson4

John Healey says UK ships not rushed to Middle East as they were seeing off the Russian threat in UK waters. "When a crisis erupts noisily as it has in the Middle East I understand why there are calls to send assets there. "But the greatest threats are often unseen and silent."

@afneil Rachel from accounts is a misnomer. If she had accounts experience she'd be far more likely to some degree be competent at her job. Rachel from customer complaints is more apt.

We (on BBC This Week) also dubbed Osborne Boy George, Hammond Spread Sheet Phil and Brown The Great Leader. Then the Tories started changing Chancellor so often we couldn’t keep up with nicknames. Rachel from Accounts has restored a cherished tradition.

@afneil Misogynist! Says the man who calls the chancellor of the exchequer Rachel from accounts!! Ha!

The eu question via Maastricht, should have been put to the people to decide & then Black Wednesday showed what a disaster this eu alignment was, which Major & @Conservatives got punished. Then came Blair, who promised twice to hold a ref on the eu question, he renegade & drove the UK deeper into the eu.. 🤬

I thought Neil Kinnock would win. I had forgotten that John Major won by such a big margin in terms of vote share: 7.5%. Not so big in terms of seats. Major then threw it all away only a few months later on the European Exchange Rate mechanism debacle, from which he never recovered.

@KerridgeTony @GMB Kemi isn’t lying all she did ask for was that we allow the US to use our bases. Starmer did the old Barrister’s trick of twisting what was said to suit a narrative. I suggest you evidence your claims with a video clip or quote? You won’t find one because it doesn’t exist!
