What an occasion it was Tuesday evening to be in attendance for one of biggest games on the College Soccer calendar so far this season. #8 Marshall hosted #10 West Virginia for the Sun Belt regular season title. A sold out crowd of 3,157 were in attendance — a record for the state of West Virginia. It was also great to spend some time with former teammate of mine, Rafa Simoes who is now the head coach of Marshall Women’s Soccer.

From playing together across the North West of England to facing off in Mississippi🇺🇸 A proud moment for us to see things like this happen. We had a total of five 219 Sports athletes competing in the same game. Good luck for the rest of the season lads!

College 🏈 v MLS ⚽️ A question we regularly get asked is ‘just how big is College Sport’ the photo below should give you a little idea. The stadium on the left is the University of Southern California’s football stadium that holds 77,500. The stadium on the right is LAFC’s that has a capacity of 22,000. USC Athletics revenue - $146 million (projected $181 million for next season) LAFC Revenue - $140 million. To give some further context, the projected $181 million in revenue for this coming season at the University of Southern California would put their athletics department above several Premier League clubs including, Bournemouth, Brentford, and Luton. There is no doubt the MLS is growing, with the Messi effect etc, but college sport is still head and shoulders above and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.

Student-Athletes 🗣️ When it comes to selecting a college choose the place that ticks the most boxes. ☑️ Academics ☑️ Athletics ☑️ Financial ☑️ Environment Don’t just rely on one or two of the above. The more you tick the happier you will ultimately be with your decision.
