Breaking: The Illinois House is about to adjourn. They won't vote on the Bears stadium bill just sent over from the Senate. Unless a special session is called this summer, they won't be back until November.

Since I’ve seen some “why does public ownership make sense?” posts… We still need to see language. But it seems that the stadium would be public in name only. The Bears would likely keep most if not all the revenue. Public ownership allows them to avoid paying property taxes.

An update from Rep. Kam Buckner a little while back. He remains optimistic something can happen on the Bears: “This is how this building works, right? Things fit, they start, they go away, they come back… This is the nature of Springfield on May 31.”
