Trump is winging it again. "Totally unprotected" is a sign he can't absorb military information. He has poor judgement and zero strategic thinking skills. The Iran war will be a U.S. loss for as long as he's in office.

Seems like opening the Strait of Hormuz by force would require total U.S. control of a large buffer zone area of Iranian territory (much mountainous) and Qeshm Island that surround it w/ 200 miles of shoreline on the West, North and East. Even with a buffer zone going miles inland, drones and missiles would remain a threat.
Not one American life is worth losing for Trump's miscalculation. He doesn't know what he's doing. He has no right to put troops in harms way. He had his shot without Congress' approval and he fucked it up. He wants other nations involved in opening the Strait to make the stakes higher for Iran if they attack shipping.
There is a way to solve this but it requires Trump's removal from office.
