That said, I think it’s crazy to have a spring and a fall election. Do it all on Election Day in November. Not for the reason that Walker states.

Put all of the elections on the November ballot with the highest turnout. School boards, municipal and county races, and the courts. Let the maximum number of people have a say in who serves on office.

People told us we were being alarmist when we said Republicans would come after our reproductive rights - overturning Roe v. Wade, allowing women to bleed out in their cars, arresting people for miscarriages, attacking contraception.
But we’ve been right every single time.

Isn’t it wild that a woman can undergo major abdominal surgery, a C-section and then be expected to immediately care for a newborn while she’s recovering, in pain, bleeding, and running on broken sleep? Oh, and she’s often the baby’s primary food source too.
And on top of all that? Many women don’t even have paid maternity leave. Meanwhile, people get 6 weeks off for a hernia repair to recover… but when it comes to childbirth, we just expect women to push through and “deal with it.”

Not quite. Berger’s racism or Seidel’s dreams of confiscation were by turns repellent and daunting. But in the end, America’s political institutions and voters’ sense limited the damage they could do. It doesn’t demonstrate that your philosophy of envy and tyranny is benign.

Because we agreed as a society that it's not right to let poor people go hungry. (Remember right and wrong?) Before you shout about them getting a job, 39% of SNAP recipients are children. 25% are disabled adults. Roughly half of recipients are employed (yes there's overlap).
