I’m Greek. You’re not. This is as bad as those who demand that every trans character be played by someone trans, that every Asian role be played by someone Asian, etc. (Now who’s DEI!) It’s called acting. It’s ok to cast someone “different.” And in fact, it’s a time-honored tradition to occasionally mix up the casting.

That’s not an entirely unfair critique, but it’s not like who’s the best actor to play a certain part is a purely objective question either. If we’re being charitable, the industry had some legitimate issues on this topic for years and they tried to compensate for them. It’s mostly symbolic anyway. These rules don’t really have much teeth.
