Hi @dodeca ! Is there any plan to start allowing livestream content in Shop Minis? Working on an exciting new Shopify app and would love to be able to use Shop for this purpose instead of alternatives.

@dodeca Fantastic! I think I have misunderstood "Shop Minis cannot livestream user generated content." in the Guidelines. So merchant produced content *can* be live-streamed in a Mini? Would a livestream with product offer be counted as 'advertisment'? shopify.dev/docs/api/shop-…

@TomRushmore yes indeed! this is already supported. there's at least one Mini that live streams available right now.

@pwnies @facebook @Meta Had the same issue and wasted far too many hours trying to fix. What did work was creating the account (and associated 'normal' fb account if still needed) when on your mobile. Crazy, but it worked straight away.

Tried creating a @facebook business profile for my startup. Immediately banned upon creating account. Appealed it. Appeal denied. Luckily they let you download information which leads to a blank page. @meta please i'm trying to give you ad spend 🙏

Tried reusing existing code. Didn’t work. Mocking state is a nightmare. Faster to just build from scratch. So I spun up a separate Remotion project inside the repo. It has access to the source code. Which means I can basically ask it to build a walkthrough video of the discount settings form. Sometimes I still have to feed it screenshots manually. Once the reusable components exist - it should be much faster to build new clips

Been playing with Remotion. I can now ship short, helpful videos across Function Studio docs with minimum effort. Docs are about to get a lot better.

Since April 1st, Shopify’s own Digital Downloads app has been getting dozens of reviews per day, pushing its rating from ~2.5 to 4.2. Genuinely curious: did they ship a major update, or are they running a smart review acquisition strategy since the start of the month? 🧐

@faridmovsumov Bizarre. One offering to set up my app for £195 in 7 days. Equivalent to 2 years of app cost, plus the setup takes about 10 minutes. Maybe I am in the wrong game!

If you are a Shopify app founder, search for your app name on Fiverr. Found this while searching for our app name. People create job postings on Fiverr to set up our Shopify app.

@faridmovsumov 90% of users use the English locale, but I know for certain that many of my customers chose my app as I had native support for French, Spanish etc. /end

@faridmovsumov Create a script to ensure consistency (all key:values present across locales) and auto trigger before commit. Update claude.md w/ something like "Always add user facing strings as i18n. Always update all locales w/ translations" 2/n

I am thinking about adding translations to my Shopify apps. Does anyone have experience with how it affects installs? Anything I need to pay attention? I am not talking about app listing page translations. I will probably leave it as is since Shopify already handles auto-translations. It is more about a translation app inside the admin, allowing users to switch languages. I avoided it until now because it would be hard to change some text in the UI or add a new feature while maintaining all translations, but now with AI, it probably will not be a big deal.

Just set up @posthog for a new project. The latest Posthog Wizard for setup is absolutely incredible. The team should be proud of this one, absolutely best in class.

@liam_at_shopify It is really demoralising doing the right thing and adhering to the rules when blatant violators climb the rankings.

@liam_at_shopify I really hope these get addressed soon. I have reported a number of apps for blatant partner violation rules (feature gating until 5 star review left, remove watermark with review, "1 min using this app" 5 star reviews) and never received a response from the violations team.
