Since 1990, Spain has built nearly 7,000 miles of motorway.
So ... what about the UK?
We have built 422 miles of motorway in 35 years.

@Somun03682911 @adrianmckinty Had this same reaction to watching this film as an adult, I just couldn't. The characters come off as so superficial and everything once they get off the beach seems contrived and forced, almost like you're watching the A-team in Normandy.

@adrianmckinty I tried to rewatch SPR, which used to be one of my favourites back in the day. It was basically unwatchable. Sensationalist, cheese already at the beginning, all over the place. TRL is an anti-war film, like A Hidden Life, so not comparable in that sense to SPR. It's much better.

It's a strange one.
I appreciated his fidelity to the story. Generally I enjoyed the movie. However, I thought it was a very poor movie.
If he hadn't done the tryptic style of telling the story and just told the story normally, would have been 10x better. I don't think the different povs added anything and all of that time could have been used to flush out events better.
An unfortunate whiff, which I enjoyed watching.
