I never imagined the attention it would receive, not to mention the second wave which came about earlier this year when a real anglerfish was caught on camera swimming to the surface. It really taught me about my own voice as a writer and comic artist, and the stories I want to tell. Thank you for reading

A 5-year old boy is dead after the hyperbaric chamber he was in exploded at Oxford Center in Troy. Oxford uses the chambers in a fringe therapy to treat kids on the autism spectrum. I wrote about this non-authorized use in 2022. crainsdetroit.com/health-care/ox…

@jameypricephoto After the 2020 race, I had to ask my colleague to help me navigate the airport cuz I couldn’t read the signs. I still ended up in a boarding line for a flight that wasn’t mine. The attendant kindly let me know I was in the wrong place.

She refused to serve me because I was slurring my words, was having trouble speaking, my eyes looked bloodshot and I was stumbling. I told her that’s not being intoxicated. It’s just what happens to your body after being awake for a very, very long period of time.

If you want to know what it’s physically like to cover a 24 hour race, a couple years ago a bunch of us went out to dinner after the race. I went to the bar to order food and drinks for our table, the bartender refused to serve me because she thought I was intoxicated (I wasn’t).
