Big news 🔥 zio-http 4 is going all-in on streams. ZIO Blocks streams become the core body type. No more Array/Chunk bodies, just pure streams. The overhead is basically zero anyway... so why keep two worlds? 💀→🌊 Simpler APIs. Better perf. Who's hyped for zio-http 4? 🚀
John A De Goes@jdegoes

ZB Streams: No chunking and no cheating (hence, no stack overflows). Powered by a new 'zero allocation' trampolining engine. Streams are going to be great again.

Retweet if you absolutely don't care what "Europe" thinks right now
Ursula von der Leyen@vonderleyen

Just spoke to @MohamedBinZayed of the United Arab Emirates. I conveyed our full support and extended our condolences following Iran’s strikes and the resulting casualties. Europe strongly condemns these unjustifiable attacks. These attacks constitute a blatant violation of the UAE’s sovereignty and a clear breach of international law. And it is not the first time the UAE has faced missile and drone attacks from Iran and its proxies. Europe stands in full solidarity with partners across the region. I will continue my outreach to important regional partners.

@Thisistheaj I am not even talking about SSR vs SPA. I am saying - if you have decided to make an SPA, why couple all your logic to rendering? If you have an SPA you have business logic on the client.

Why do frontend devs put all their logic in "components"? I came up in the winform desktop all days and knew back then, as juniors, that it was an anti pattern to couple business logic and UI so tightly. How does frontend still not have a concept of architecture?

Our intern just asked me why we don't use Kubernetes. I said because we don't need Kubernetes. He said everyone uses Kubernetes. I said everyone TALKS about using Kubernetes. Most companies are running Docker containers on three servers and calling it a day. We have 40 employees. Our entire infrastructure runs on AWS with auto-scaling groups. It works fine. Kubernetes is designed for companies running thousands of services across hundreds of servers. We have twelve services. But he read that Kubernetes is "industry standard" so now he thinks we're behind. This is what happens when people learn from tech Twitter instead of actual experience. They think every company is Google-scale and needs Google-scale solutions. We don't need Kubernetes. We need our MySQL database to stop running out of connections because someone wrote a query that doesn't close properly. But that's not exciting. Nobody writes blog posts about "I fixed a connection leak." They write about "How we migrated to Kubernetes and saved millions" even though the migration cost more than they saved. I told the intern he should learn why tools exist before learning the tools themselves. He looked disappointed. He wanted to put Kubernetes on his resume.

🚨 Bill Gates just highlighted this in a recent video clip that's going viral, and it's raising serious questions 🤔 This unelected billionaire thinks he gets to decide our future: Merge biometric digital IDs with bank accounts and payments to "safely" track everyone's health records, monitor farmers like suspects, and "fix climate issues”. Who the actual HELL does he think he is? Not elected, not accountable, just a tech mogul pushing total surveillance control over our bodies, money, food, and lives. This is dystopian tyranny disguised as progress. Gates isn't helping, he's a globalist, sociopathic, Eugenist POS engineering control. Wake up! 🔥

Fear mongering articles on the uncontrollable power of AI are all just marketing hype from AI companies entering new financing rounds or trying to prepare for IPO with their error-ridden, over-boosted LLMs. Push back. Don't share their links even to debunk them. Screenshot them

Shoutout to @jdegoes and @aplokhotnyuk for the solid fundamentals + killer performance work that got us here. Recently, John and I went wild with fresh features + micro-libs 🔥 The goal: blazing high performance + excellent DX + plain Scala. Zero ZIO deps. Zero anything else. github.com/zio/zio-blocks

@matej_cerny I like that library @Krever01 , look awesome! Still I think that for internal tools not using an SPA stack is the best idea. Personally I'd love to see this with a smart combination of HTMX. case class in, (HTMX-)UI out.

"Scala.js doesn’t need to compete with TypeScript and React for customer-facing products. There is a much better and more realistic opportunity: internal tools." I completely agree. The sweet spot for Scala.js isn't the landing page. It's the Admin Panel. 🎯 Check out the new Forms4s library by @Krever01. It ships with Tyrian 👾 support out of the box, but because it's composable, you aren't locked into a specific UI framework.

I stopped taking advice from childless people. Fitness. Productivity. Life advice. All of it. And here's why: It's not that they're wrong. It's that they're playing a completely different game. Taking life advice from someone without kids is like getting marriage tips from a guy who's "really good at first dates." Cool, bro. But you've never had to initiate the tough conversation and own your mistake just to keep the peace. We're not in the same sport. We've all seen some 25-year-old fitness influencer with non-negotiable 5am routine. Wake up. Meditate. Journal. Cold plunge. 45-minute lift. Sounds beautiful. You know what woke ME up at 5am last Tuesday? A 3-year-old standing 3 inches from my face whispering, "Daddy, I frowed up." There's no cold plunge for that. Just reality. These people have optimized their lives around ONE variable: themselves. I'm optimizing for: → A marriage that still thriving after 10 years → Kids who actually want to be around me → A career that provides for my family → A body that lets me keep up with all of it That's a completely different goal and it requires a different formula. Real discipline isn't waking up at 5am when your apartment is silent and your only responsibility is a houseplant. It's a 10pm workout after the kids went to bed because your morning blew up showing up for your family when they needed you. That's the game I'm playing. Childless advice isn't just impractical. It's unrelatable. Their goal: optimize for SELF. My goal: optimize for FAMILY. It's like a vegan telling me how to grill a steak. You might technically know the steps. But I don't trust you with the tongs. The best advice I've ever gotten came from parents in the trenches. They don't talk about "optimizing morning routines." They talk about: • 20 push-ups while your kid eats breakfast • Walking with your wife after dinner because it's the only time you'll get together • Meal prepping Sunday because Tuesday night is a warzone THAT'S advice that actually works. So no, I'm not taking health advice from someone whose biggest inconvenience is their supplement stack being shipped late. I want the guy who's been elbow-deep in a diaper blowout and STILL hitting their goals. That's the guy who I'm listening to. Find your people. Take their advice. Ignore the rest.
