It’s a shame that it has come to this.
An onslaught from Scotland & beyond because the Hearts fairytale was damaged with an obvious handball.
I wouldn’t imagine he got flowers & chocolates through the post from failing to give Maeda a penalty? 🤔💭

@_krystallstarr @GodEmperorGavin @papipagne4 @shaTIRED Nothing. It's baffling. This guy won't give the gimmick up
English

@GodEmperorGavin @papipagne4 @shaTIRED But what does that have to do with a meme of people dressed in Israeli flags talking about Kendrick
English

@IAmYourIntifada @FPL_Dabby @fpl_tactician Ah lol the link to that is for 2019-20 season ifab rule changes scottishfa.co.uk/news/updates-t…
Then ifab changed the rule again effective July 2021, to what I posted theifab.com/news/annual-ge…
The bit you keep screenshotting was removed 5 years ago

Seen too many freeze frames of Nicholson handballing. He does handball it. No question.
Here’s a freeze frame as Nicholson is just about to jump as high as he can for the ball. Trusty is yards away.
Nicholson only has eyes on the ball the whole time. He uses his arms as leverage like anyone does.
The only reason he handballs is it because Trusty runs from behind, jumps through Nicholson and knocks his arm into the ball.
No pen

English

@IAmYourIntifada @FPL_Dabby @fpl_tactician Weird because that bit's not in the IFAB rule book. Did it get removed? I'll check later, cheers
English

@Tom_Weir @Dannys_Beard @GorgieOpinion @DeanBrett62 It’s all if and buts! There has been plenty of controversial decisions made, Ie shankland handball at ibrox there wasn’t an outcry, iwata handball at tynecastle 2 year ago they laughed at Celtic for that decision 😂, Karma is beautiful
English

@chrismcf73 @YearsBanter @10candan Why are you asking me about something that's not in the rules.
It's all in the screenshot. It's all on the rules.
English

@Tom_Weir @YearsBanter @10candan Ask yourself.
Is his arm in an unnatural position when the ball hits his arm?
Get back to me once you you can understand that point.
English

@mcinally_scott @Dannys_Beard @GorgieOpinion @DeanBrett62 Aye it's possible but he's pretty clearly generating momentum as he comes forward
English

@Tom_Weir @Dannys_Beard @GorgieOpinion @DeanBrett62 Should his hands be up there in the first place?? You can jump without having you’re hands above you’re head
English

@AlfieConn @BeeJayEff1 @The_Forty_Four The defender's shoulder literally prevents the hand from continuing it's natural motion down
English

@Dannys_Beard @GorgieOpinion @mcinally_scott @DeanBrett62 And then he can't lower them because the shoulder's there
English

@GorgieOpinion @mcinally_scott @DeanBrett62 if you look from the rear of this incident, you'll see his hands are up will before Trusty jumps youtube.com/watch?v=y9glU7…

@EddieHa35418086 @chrismcf73 @10candan Unnatural position isn't even in the rules. Calling people idiot and you can't read a screenshot
English

@Tom_Weir @chrismcf73 @10candan Well yeah ignorant idiot his had was above his head that makes it unnatural position
English

@YearsBanter @chrismcf73 @10candan I'm saying he clearly doesn't deliberately touch it. So moving his arm towards the ball doesn't make that handball. Not every movement near a ball is handball.
The bit after 'for example' is an example of the first thing, not a separate thing.
English

@chrismcf73 @10candan It's not one or three. And two is about unnaturally bigger as defined starting "when the position..." which if you watch any angle of the video, isn't met either.

English

@10candan Go on then 10.
What are the mysterious 2 rules?
Mon Dan, please enlighten us........
English

@FPL_Dabby @thoughtidsay @RichardF1990 @DannyBo57626221 @fpl_tactician You're consistently misreading the rule
English

@thoughtidsay @RichardF1990 @DannyBo57626221 @fpl_tactician Because if your hand is above shoulder height its basically always considered an unnatural position
Dont put your hand infront of your face it doesnt need to be there & if the reason it is because you've just elbowed an opposition player in the face, that doesnt make it better
English

@FPL_Dabby @fpl_tactician It's not about an unnatural position. Rule's the 2nd bullet here.
The position was a consequence of, and justifiable by the player's body movement of going for the header, left arm gokng up for leverage, and the defender's shoulder stopping it going back down

English

@fpl_tactician I dont think the points you've made exonerate him as far as the rules go
Regardless of the circumstances, his hand there is an unnatural position. Having it above shoulder height is always going to be deemed unnatural
English

@Nomadicscotsman @lloydy1974 My bad, review of serious incidents in the penalty box is an automatic var.
English

@Nomadicscotsman @lloydy1974 The point is it isn't a handball offence under any of the rules, nor was it clear and obvious so it's ofd that it was reviewed.
As the rules say not every touch is a handball

English

I understand the emotion around a huge penalty decision in a massive game. Football does that to people.
But at some point emotion has to give way to evidence. When freeze frames, angles and clear contact are sitting right in front of us, denying it because it doesn’t suit your team or narrative just kills any honest debate.
What’s even worse is when professionals and pundits, who know the game inside out, deliberately drive a narrative to suit an agenda rather than analyse what’s actually in front of them. That only fuels tribalism and misinformation.
You can debate consistency. You can debate interpretation. But you can’t just ignore unrefutable evidence because it’s inconvenient. Football discussion is far better when honesty matters more than point scoring.
