To describe Hearts’ statement as “nonsense” is just really, really poor from Martin O’Neill. The vast majority of Celtic fans not only behaved, they booed the lackwits on the park. Why not just say that? We all need to move past the tribalism to address this escalating situation.

To be clear, fans on the pitch wasn’t acceptable. Assaults, weren’t acceptable. However, nearly 24 hours on, and I’ve not seen any evidence of Hearts players being assault despite the media running with it very quickly. I’ve seen Shankland having a go at fans (somewhat fairly).
