#XPeng’s 2nd-gen VLA is a full-stack self-developed physical world foundation model, pioneering a simplified “V-A” architecture. Beyond autonomous driving, it can be applied to Robotaxi, flying cars and humanoid robots.
The launch of XPeng’s 2nd-gen VLA enables XPeng to compete directly with Tesla globally, bringing a new variable to the global intelligent vehicle industry.
He Xiaopeng noted that 2026 is a watershed moment for autonomous driving R&D. XPeng rebuilt the model paradigm from the ground up for two key reasons:
✅First, the autonomous driving paradigm has shifted from rule-based software to AI-training-AI, marking the early stage of L4.
✅Second, global autonomous driving competition also involves policies and regulations. The U.S. has relaxed L4 access rules, and UN L3 regulations are expected by late 2026 or 2027. With tech and policy support, China’s autonomous driving industry is poised for leapfrog development and global influence.
