@ChoctopusYT People got too comfortable with Switch 1. Any launch window or year of a console can be shitty, people forget Wii U was a failure & nobody at the start felt the Switch would succeed. That transition was much more grim than the Switch 2 start. Anything in life needs time 🤷

Every Nintendo news-focused creator I see in recommended is very doom-and-gloom about the Switch 2. Are we in disagreement that year 1 (which is not even over yet) was incredibly strong IP-wise? I’m not talking about whether or not you enjoyed the games but: - Mario Kart World - Donkey Kong Bananza - Metroid Prime 4 - Pokémon Legends Z-A - Kirby Air Riders - Tomodachi Life - Yoshi and the Mysterious Book - Pokopia - Mario Tennis Fever - The Legend of Zelda: Age of Imprisonment Not to mention all of the Switch 2 editions/upgrades and third party support. What were y’all expecting in the first 8 months of a console’s life?

@Head_cannon I want to have the bells and whistles that the mobile ports brought but without the corporate slop or hoops. There really is no way to get Sega to course correct because the money was made, sales met, & that's it. Boycott future games? Doubtful. There is no satisfying end to this

@Head_cannon It's a passion for definitive versions vs greed. I want to love Sonic Origins more but I can't with the issues still on hand & drm on the PC version. You can't get the original roms on Steam anymore & yes mods can improve it but having to go other avenues is just not ideal..

When I wake up tomorrow, how many "Sonic Mania Dev Calls Sonic Origins 'a Joke'/'an Embarrassment'" headlines will I see? How many journalists sit by the glow of their monitor right now, articles ready with trembling fingers poised to click that submit button at the right time?
