@Monica55dzrh $40 is less than 10 percent $120 is 20% and is the acceptable etiquette for tipping. If you can’t afford to leave a tip, you shouldn’t be going out to eat. Waitresses are paid less than minimum wages because part of their income is self income (tips)

We went to a dinner as a group and had a $500 bill. We tipped $40. We were happy we can be able to give our server something, but her reaction was the opposite. She told us she assumed we're going to give her at least $120. When we asked for the manager, she said she was just joking, but she wasn't smiling at all. Idk, but is $40 tip enough for $500 bill? I just feel like expecting $120 is not realistic..... 🤔🤔

Spoke to another taxi driver in Bogota today. Not quite what I was expecting and slightly conflicting opinions. Never votes. Doesn't trust any of them and never has because he things politicians are corrupt. However, he leans left (that was the surprise) and thinks Petro's government has made some little changes. He can't stand Paloma Valencia (purely as she's linked to Uribe) and believes Albelardo de Espriella is pretty much the same and a bit of a joke. Thinks he is a wannabe Bukele and all show. However, he likes Bukele and agrees with more Bukele-style politics and would like a big jail to put criminals, gang and armed group members in, like in El Salvador. Key priority is cleaning up the centre of Bogota and security, followed by economy. Thinks if security improves, economy will too. Another chatty man. I just simply asked, 'are you ready for the elections?' and got a verbal essay...😂
