The conversations about Preston Sprinkle’s book has been frustrating for me to watch. I wrote about it here, and offered some reflections and ideas about how to move forward.

@tomascol Tom, something tells me you don't feel embarrassed about anything you believe, hypothetical or otherwise.

If I were a paedobaptist I would be embarrassed by this & terrified by the expressed "covenantal logic" of Bird. As a credobaptist, I appreciate the this as more grist for my mill.

@NateSchlomann Hi Nate, I asked about this (was unaware it was in the FAQ) and apparently this has been their standard language for as long as they’ve done women’s events. Occasionally a spouse attends, but no one is pushing for an increase in male attendees. I’m certainly not. Hope this helps!

Lifeway has removed any reference to women from its promotion of Jen Wilkin events. Check it out for yourself. The FAQ says men are welcome to attend. This is a shift. One might say a drift. And this is not how most conservative churches understand complementarianism (spare me the semantic debate for now.) I don’t know how people don’t see the feminist agenda at work here. Feminism is the most destructive force in modern society. Pastors must protect their flocks from feminist poison.

@Tony1015G I argue that the author does not reject Jewish religion but articulates a vision for it where Jesus is the messiah.

Conservatives who attend church weekly are the least likely to have ever been diagnosed with a mental health condition. Liberals who have low attendance are the most likely to have a diagnosis.

@RawTheology @DrTomSchreiner Sprinkle grants his readers more freedom to disagree than he is willing to grant Dr. Schreiner when he says: “As for the strength of the exegetical arguments in my book, I’m happy letting readers decide for themselves.”

@PrestonSprinkle @DrTomSchreiner @TGC Schreiner loves to cite Al Wolters work on this topic. He is over simplifying Wolters work on this. And Wolters does the same thing with authentein as Schreiner claims Sprinkle is doing here, but just to hold up a comp framework instead.
