Cork City fans of a certain age, wondering if you can help me on this - were the 1991 games against Rovers and Bayern Munich the only competitive games they ever played at Musgrave Park? And were there any notable football friendlies held there?

Nothing to read into from the result. A useful run out for a few who may be needed down the line and another game in front of a big crowd. On now to Galway where the intensity will need to go up a couple of more levels.

Losing by a point is hard to take. Tough conditions for both sides. James Owen had a really poor day. League & Munster done. Now it’s all about the main one. 3 games to win an All Ireland. Today’s disappointment fuels the determination to put it right in July whatever it takes.

Great determination from Ireland to overcome a very strong Netherlands side and secure the win. The challenging weather conditions made it difficult for both teams yet they still managed to produce a match of real quality. With that result anything is possible now against France.

Munster final confirmed. The game was played at a decent tempo from a Cork point of view and even when matches are one sided they’re still valuable run outs.

Again not a vintage performance but they still managed to grind out the result which is encouraging. Objective number two of getting out of Munster accomplished.

Another game marked by too many errors. First touch, decision making and puck outs all need attention. Still it’s encouraging to see the resilience in how the team kept fighting back. Two wins without hitting top form is definitely a positive.

Tipp fully deserved their win today finishing strong with some excellent late scores. It’s another valuable bit of experience for this developing Cork side. Attention now turns to the All Ireland championship.

Sometimes you gain more from avoiding defeat than from winning. It had that early days feel. Scrappy in patches. A relief coming away with the points. Too many scores given away from poor touches and the frees conceded trying to recover. Now it’s straight on to the next challenge

Today showed there’s still plenty of work to do ahead of All Ireland champions Tipp in two weeks. Positive is that even with a poor performance (especially on puc outs) Limerick still couldn’t put us away until the very end.

Could’ve gone either way in Cobh. Both teams had their moments. A good Cork sporting occasion. #ccfc84

Yes it’s a win but it was a poor performance from City. Thankfully the standard in this division is low. Last year we would’ve suffered a heavy defeat playing like that. The only real bright spark was Cillian Murphy who brought some much needed energy and excitement. #CCFC84

@thesundaygame Should the “third man in” rule have been implemented by Liam Gordon as its purpose was to reduce melee’s like we saw. It was 2 players wrestling on the ground which would have been dealt with by 2 yellows. Instead Andrew Ormond comes in and turns it into a melee.

Shadow boxing from both teams but still a good run out at this time of year. Good scores but plenty of errors. The melee will get headlines but nothing serious just a lot of pushing and shoving.

Essentially a glorified challenge game. It will be interesting to see how they respond when pressure comes. Still a positive start.

City were right in it until the red card and a few missed chances could’ve changed everything but Shams quality and composure told in the end. A terrible season overall. Big changes needed on the football side in whatever form it takes. #LOI #CCFC84
