@jeff_gluck @SMMHansen @RFKracing Hopefully NASCAR fixes themselves and reverses this “give your competitor a break expectation”. I can already hear the call: “they’re side-by-side to the finish line, and what’s this? Brad Keselowski is being black flagged for not giving Tyler Reddick a break”. 😔

Thanks for watching the Gluckcast today. If you missed it, @RFKracing president Chip Bowers says RFK will not make a final appeal on the Preece penalty (process is over now) and says they will run three cars next year no matter what (even if they have to run an open car).

@jeff_gluck @SMMHansen I enjoyed the interview. I read the change at the AP as more of a continuation of the shrinking of large legacy media. There’s more “coverage” of motorsports than ever, but more of it now is social media, directly to the fans, much of it very professional (like you).

Don’t think people grasp how bad it is for American motorsports to see regular AP coverage reduced like this.

@bobpockrass @NASCARONFOX KB should make lemonade out of the lemon situation he’s in. He should get the “Got Junk” company on every car. 😊

@jeff_gluck @DustinAlbino I totally agree. KB was never my favorite driver, but I enjoyed races more when he was competitive. I hope he can find a competitive ride with Spire or some other decent team soon.

Denny Hamlin was just on the Fox pre-race show and they asked him about Kyle Busch's comments yesterday. Hamlin: "It's just such a hard tightrope. When the subject came up, I'm like, 'How am I gonna tread this?' Because I have to be honest to the people that tune in, listen to an episode. That's why they listen. "But I also have to go on the racetrack with him, and I felt like I was being gentle and trying to share the blame all around because I think that there's enough to go around. "I know this: I was teammates with Kyle Busch, and I know he taught me by far more than any teammate I ever was with. He did. He's the reason I'm decent on these mile-and-a-halfs, is because of Kyle Busch. "So I know what he's capable of, and I know that it's he's not loving where he's at because he's a tough competitor. "I'm rooting for him because the sport needs the old Kyle Busch."

@jeff_gluck You’ll probably get an upsell offer soon from the platforms giving you an option to increase voting vs view results. 😊 I know I always vote as soon as I see it. I can imagine motivation being low w/ the Martinsville race. Bristol, at least the end was good.

I'm confused as to what's going on with the vote totals in the poll. Last year's voting average in the poll was 24k votes. The year before that was 26k votes. The year before that was 21k votes. And THIS year's average until Martinsville a couple weeks ago was 19k votes. Suddenly though, Martinsville only got 9.8k votes. I posted about it and a lot of you said you didn't see it in your timeline. Now suddenly the next poll is only 3.5k votes. But in the analytics, it says there were 124k impressions (number of people who saw the post). For transparency, let's look at some of the vote totals vs. impressions (number of people who saw the poll, per X Analytics). This is in order for this year's races. Clash: 14.8k votes, 58k impressions (25% voted) Daytona 500: 28.6k votes, 156k impressions (18% voted) Atlanta: 24.3k votes, 257k impressions (11% voted) COTA: 18.7k votes, 135k votes (14% voted) Phoenix: 16.8k votes, 116k impressions (14% voted) Vegas: 15.5k votes, 61k impressions (25% voted) Darlington: 17.3k votes, 256k impressions (6% voted) Martinsville: 9.8k votes, 130k impressions (7% voted) Bristol: 3.5k, 124k impressions (3% voted) So what happened the last few weeks? Something isn't adding up (and no, I don't think it's "NASCAR fans suddenly stopped deciding to vote"). Seems like either the vote totals are wrong or the impressions are wrong and people aren't seeing the poll. What's your theory? (cc: @nikitabier)

Was Bristol a good race? 67 percent of you said Yes. -- Ranks No. 14 of 22 Bristol races -- Ranks No. 3 of the paved Next Gen races at Bristol (the two high tire wear races were ahead of it, so this is the top "normal" Bristol race with the Next Gen car) -- Only 3.5k votes. More thoughts on this in the next tweet. (1/2)

@ClaireBLang Putting Heather in the car for the drive to Victory Lane, knowing what they’ve all been through, is one of my favorite NASCAR moments of 2026. ❤️🏎️🏁🇺🇸

@DirtyMoMedia I don’t think it was much different most other drivers would have done. Riley got loose, and KB didn’t even have much reaction time. Not lifting may not have been more hazardous than any other decision he could have made. 🏎️🏁🇺🇸

Was Kyle Busch's payback on Riley Herbst FAIR GAME in Bristol? Or was it too close to being a race-altering caution? 🤔

@bobpockrass @NASCARONFOX I thought it was cool that @garret_1320 drove for two different manufacturers in one day. Ford in ARCA, and Chevy in the O’Reilly series. I don’t remember anyone else doing that in recent years. ❤️🏎️🏁

Easter Sunday 2017, Bahrain. I was Head of Race Strategy at Sauber, calling the race for Pascal Wehrlein. P13 on the grid. Slow car. Faster cars everywhere ahead of us. Two stops was the standard strategy that day. But for us, two stops meant losing 23.5 seconds in the pit lane, twice, coming out in traffic, twice, and finishing exactly where we started. That's not a strategy. That's just doing laps. So we did one stop. 45 laps on soft tyres. Longest stint of the race. Degradation running at 0.18s a lap, rears barely hanging on, and me on the radio the whole time: wait. Don't pit. Keep going. It worked. We gained positions in a slower car. And here's the thing. Up at the front, Ferrari had exactly the same problem from P3. Copy what Mercedes does, you finish behind Mercedes. So they went the other way. Boxed Vettel five laps early, undercut Bottas, won the Grand Prix. Same lesson from opposite ends of the grid. If you're behind a faster car and you do the same thing as them, you lose. The "safe" strategy isn't safe when you don't have the pace. It's the risk. Full breakdown on the channel with the race trace data, how Vettel held off Hamilton by 6.6 seconds, and how a Safety Car nearly changed everything. @FreddieKraft @ToddGilliland_ @CaseyBoat I just thought that Bubba’s move was selfish. The most mature response I’ve heard on the whole incident was Carson Hocevar’s reaction. He was immediately just focused on getting the 77 car fixed and getting back into the fight.

Luckily there have been absolutely no irrational responses to this clip. 😂 Thanks again to @ToddGilliland_ and @CaseyBoat for joining in on the fun. Give this weeks episode a listen, or watch it on the Door Bumper Clear YouTube channel.

@jeff_gluck My simple Google search showed that Japanese Grand Prix numbers were much lower than the NASCAR Cup numbers, but I’m not sure if you’re listing U.S. numbers or global numbers. I’m sure you have a source for this. It was a mixed bag globally vs individual countries for F1.

NASCAR TV viewership from Martinsville last weekend: -- Cup Series got 2.39 million viewers, down slightly from 2.42 million last year. -- O'Reilly Series got 1.2 million viewers, up 18 percent over last year's 1.01 million

Spoke with Justin Allgaier for a story that you'll see down the road. Naturally, we spoke about the recent round of takes on whether or not he's a Hall of Famer and whether drivers who were all-time greats in O'Reilly, etc. are worthy of the HoF or not. "I hate the fact that there are people that believe that it should just be Cup guys only. I don’t appreciate that opinion. Because I feel like there’s so many guys that have grown this sport to what it is today that are people that I looked up to. "You mentioned Sam Ard, you mentioned Jack Ingram, you mentioned Randy LaJoie – All guys that were heroes. They were guys that I feel like you looked up to, you appreciated what they accomplished. "I never took anything away from any of those guys because I thought that they weren’t good at what they did. I always valued what they did." Allgaier restated that he's not sure he's really done anything to warrant being a Hall of Famer, but he's proud of what he's accomplished and recognizes that he's afforded himself certain things personally by staying at the O'Reilly level as opposed to trying to get another shot in Cup. "If I had gone to the Cup Series many years ago, maybe I don’t have this career that I have today, you know what I mean?" He did also say after this audio clip that he loves the dialogue the whole debate has created and feels like it's made for a better understanding of what people want from the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

Also: Only 9,862 votes. Fewest votes in a Good Race Poll I've done on X/Twitter since 2021. Dunno if it got buried in the algorithm or what happened there, but the other polls this year have averaged more than 19,000 votes.
