@HouseOfHorrorCo Around the time this movie came out, Martin H Greenberg edited a collection of new Dracula short stories. I thought it was a great collection. The title was Dracula: Prince of Darkness (Yes, just like the Hammer movie)

Magician Koura (Tom Baker) bringing the statue of Kali to life in The Golden Voyage of Sinbad which should've gotten an Oscar especially because no special effects Oscar was awarded that year. This snub is very strange, the Academy didn't like Harryhausen then.

@RetroMoviesDB I remember reading way before Superman 3 went into production that they were considering a live-action version of Braniac as the villain.

This scene from Superman 3 scared me as a kid. I can't be the only one.

@FunMovieTVFan I saw most of those movies in the theater. I think if I had to do it again, I'd go see Heat a second time.

In honor of Lee Cronin’s The Mummy… let’s take a look at Hammer’s classic! The Mummy (1959) was a Hammer mummy movie I saw pictures of in books as a kid. The image that REALLY stuck out was Cushing STABBING Lee’s Mummy with a spear! It finally popped up on TV in the early eighties. Hammer delivered way more action and shocks. (And Lee was downright fearsome!) #themummy #leecronin

34 years ago, at 24 years old, I took the biggest swing of my career, one of the big swings in comic book history and launched Youngblood and put Image Comics on the map. Youngblood #1 sold one million copies with one single cover, we never looked back🔥 This will never not be the first Image Comic. The storm that followed cleared a path for all creators that followed. Todd McFarlane, Erik Larsen, Jim Lee, Marc Silvestri, Whilce Portacio, Jim Valentino, and myself left Marvel and started Image Comics and the rest is legacy!! Youngblood 5/99 is out next week and issue 100 is on the way!

Lee Cronin’s THE MUMMY debuted with only 52% on Rotten Tomatoes. After making only $1.5M in previews yesterday, it is now tracking to be another L to Blumhouse, making only $10M-$12M on its domestic opening weekend.

The franchise Lee Cronin would love to take a crack at? NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET. Cronin tells @Variety, "I would find it very hard not to have a swing at Freddy Krueger, because he haunted my nightmares throughout my entire childhood and still pops up about four times a year."

@ScottMcCreaWest I remember the old TV book giving the film "four stars out of four" when it played on TV back in the 1980s. But, yeah, tonally, it is headed toward campy humor, which is odd for a Connery film.

For those who think Sean Connery is always great as 007, re-watch Diamonds Are Forever. It is a terrible sendoff to his tenure; bad editing, incomprehensible plot and Connery looking like your old Uncle Vern trying to be cool in Las Vegas. Un-Bondian; Charles Gray steals it.

@IGN The original with Van Damme was a blast. Another great time at the movies back in the day.
