My compliments to @MrinalPande1 and indeed to @IndianExpress for their piece and edit on the issue of the police arresting 14 young men for holding an iftaar party on a boat ride in the Ganga in Kashi. Ganga mata surely does not discriminate among humans who come to its shore. Kabir found his Guru on the banks of the Ganga in Kashi. Which religion did he belong to? Sanatan Dharma is far above these petty politicised issues. The Devi drank the blood of Raktabeej to save our world. As for polluting the river, we should take better care of the sewage that floods the river. @PTI_News @Muneermuh @IMohanRSS @DattaHosabale @myogioffice @myogiadityanath @cleanganganmcg

__________ End of days of patience, devotion, and grace, The smiling new moon lits up the sky. And joy engulfs hearts all around, When loved ones return with warmth to share— All differences fade as we hug with glee, While children’s sweet laughter flows wild and free. Wishing everyone a joyous #Eidlfitr day, #EidMubarak. #Harmony #Religion #Festival #Islam #Bangladesh #India

I wish @NewIndianXpress which is otherwise a responsible newspaper should check their facts before running Gobellion Propaganda This is what I had said 👇 Strategic Autonomy is a sum of many parts . While it is correct to say that India must be circumspect given that our diaspora is spread all across the Greater Middle East and our energy and food security imperatives but Strategic autonomy also means : 1. Should regime change by coercive means be accepted by India ? Answer is NO. 2. Should India accept targeted assassination’s and abduction of leaders and functionaries of sovereign governments? Answer is NO 3. Should India not condole the Assassination of a Head of State and the killing of innocent schoolchildren in a missile strike ? Answer is Yes 4. Strategic autonomy also means upholding the principles that form the core of our foreign and strategic policy thought going back to 1947 . Strategic Autonomy like mentioned above and underscored for emphasis is a sum of many moving parts. This above 👆 is for those who selectively extrapolate out of context to run cynically political agenda’s.

Striking a different note, Congress leaders @ShashiTharoor and @ManishTewari have voiced support for the Centre’s ‘cautious approach’ towards the ongoing conflict between US-Israel and Iran. The remarks come at a time when the party leadership has raised serious doubts about the direction and credibility of India’s foreign policy. 🔗newindianexpress.com/nation/2026/Ma… #WestAsiaWar @bhadrakali20

Japanese Report: "Why didn't you tell US allies about the war before attacking Iran?" Donald Trump: "Who knows better about surprises then Japan. Why didn't you tell me about Pearl Harbor?" This man belong in a psychiatric ward.

Today's appointment of Vikram Doraiswami, who knows China well, as the next Ambassador in Beijing is welcome news. The Embassy in Beijing is in need of revitalization and fresh energy to navigate the on-going normalization of a very complex relationship, so this bodes well.

@TonyMathur55 Quiet on the brink of humiliation cannot be strategic! Our foreign policy is in tatters, completely confused!

How has keeping quiet helped Indian interests? The senseless war has dealt a serious blow to our economy and may destabilise the more fragile economies of our neighbors in South Asia. Is the person you don’t want to annoy grateful for that? Any concession on tariffs coming?
Shashi Tharoor@ShashiTharoor

My latest #TharoorThink column in the @IndianExpress explains why I have not joined the widespread liberal critique of the Indian government’s “moral failure” to condemn the US-Israeli attack on Iran. India has too much at stake to indulge in the morally gratifying grandstanding that could have placed vital national interests at risk. As the late Kofi Annan advised me, citing a Ghanaian proverb: “never hit a man on the head when you have your fingers between his teeth!”

There’s no “morally gratifying grandstanding…” you ought to have the gumption to be able to call an unjust act out for exactly what it is. As for our interests in the region, pray how has our silence helped?
