@CyrusCGmtg Id also be playing 1x necro persobally. It gives you the option of discard + engine card as opposed to all in or pass while still being a very good card in the opener.

@CyrusCGmtg I feel like 8 cantrips + 4 flowstate can find them without playing 6. Having said that- it would take some reps to figure what else wud b helpful. Leyline for Oops or some split of boomerang maybe? Boomerang not great without opal but it is still less dead if u need action.

@TonyScapone I didn't really think of these two as a combo. Added Immolation as the only red answer to Mongrel (+Tribe, Nantuko etc) and Bridge as the only card I could think of that's good against both Monoblack (good indeed, although nonbo with Pillars) and Noughts (probably a trap)

So close! Finished 9th on tiebreakers in today’s Modern Challenge (73 players) with Tidecaller Phoenix Dredge. The deck feels incredible, maybe even better after the latest sideboard updates. The MTGO meta is insanely fast right now, so I’m down to 2 copies of Talent. Rounds ⬇️

To be clear for @wizards_magic on EW NA falling on Halloween: I won Vintage in 2024. I top 4’d Vintage in 2025. I would’ve loved to try to run it back in 2026, but because it’s on Halloween, I’m not gonna be a dad who skips trick or treating with his kids to go play Magic.
