@Ldn_Ambulance you recently posted about your awesome Pet Therapy Team dogs! A fantastic initiative to support staff. #Defib the cat is clearly very much part of Team LAS… Sounds like Speciesism to me!! Save #Defib from eviction!

@TheBMA I couldn’t agree more there is nothing junior about most junior doctors! Change was needed, but titles should be for patients. I’m not sure “resident” makes it any clearer. Junior Doc, Doc, Senior Doc, Consultant (or similar progression) may have been clearer?

@Dr__Sarmy This is how pilots have been trained for a long time… a 2year course that takes you from having no / little flying experience to a job with easyJet as a Second Officer, working with an experienced Captain.
It’ll be at least 7 or so years after training before becoming a Captain
English

Seriously considering a new career as a “Pilot associate” 🤔 🤔
No flying skills necessary - sounds familiar??

@British_Airways My elderly folks are stuck at Schipol after your flights were cancelled. All BA staff agency asking them to pay for accomodation and travel to Rotterdam and “they’ll be reimbursed.” Fairly certain you need to be organising this given you’ve cancelled it?

Does anyone know of any doctors turned pilots out there ? #MedTwitter

@OcoRory @AbbieTBee As Rory says, I’m currently most the way through my commercial airline pilot training scheme! 13 years as a paramedic… Happy to share any thoughts if it might be helpful!

@gareth_grier @EHAAT_ @alice_kershberg @molly_trish Phenomenal team!! Fantastic to see how far the roles have developed from 2017 when Adam and I started! Proud to have been a small part of the journey.

@Sheepie_1985 @katie_pilot Yea, I’m not the youngest in my cohort either… Class 1 is daunting, but my experience is it’s not as bad as anticipated… Career change was a big leap for me… but no regrets so far! Good luck!
English

@TonyTone17 @katie_pilot A friend had someone on their course that was 45 so I have some hope! It’s the Class 1 medical I fear though!

@scottiebateman @DaveLBywater Hi Scott, this kind of does already happen all over the UK! There are many Community First Responder (CFRs) groups, BASICS schemes and GoodSAM clinicians who respond to local cardiac arrests with the aim of improving chance of survival. Happy to talk more about it if interested!
English

I love this solution. An army of volunteer responders responding in rural & urban communities to increase the chances of survival when suffering cardiac arrest. Would you volunteer to have training and an app on your phone ? Could this work in the U.K. ? twitter.com/cmaltahansen/s…
