Today I was pleased to join the Prime Minister, both provincial and federal Ministers of Housing and the Mayor of Ottawa to launch the Municipal Development Charge Reduction Program. This builds on work already done in Ontario, and @CFAA_FCAPI commends the federal government for its leadership. Yesterday at Queen’s Park, I spoke to Bill 98 and the need to keep purpose-built rental housing moving in a more stable, predictable environment. We’ve made real progress, and now the focus must be on maintaining that momentum to support affordability and a well-functioning market.
