In his presentation during the 2024 Uganda Top100 Mid-Sized Companies Survey Conference, Benson Mwesigwa, Associate Director at KPMG, highlighted that this year's survey showed significant improvements in governance systems and processes, particularly in risk management.

Today, KPMG Uganda, in collaboration with @DailyMonitor, presented the 2024 Top 100 Mid-Sized Companies Survey report to all stakeholders under the theme "Empowering SMEs for a Monetized Uganda: Catalyzing Growth through Innovation, Sustainability, and Market Access."

Mr. Kyambadde Peter from KPMG gave an overview of the Top 100 SMEs over the past few years and further highlighted the criteria followed in selecting the SMEs “SMEs which are key and half goal of icon on which our GDP growth largely depends, then it is important that we focus on this sector. And a recent population census indicated that as it has been known, Uganda is one of the fastest growing countries from a population perspective and we are in young population.” “So if you are looking at what sector to focus on to ensure that you can create sufficient jobs for the many people who are joining the job market every day, then this sector is important to focus on and have such programs that will help to see how to enhance the growth and sustainability of this sector.” “So for this very reason, more than 15 years ago, KPMG and Nation media group decided to partner to start this surface whose main objective was focus on the smaller medium enterprises sector and the survey specifically seeks to identify the fastest growing medium sized companies.” #Top100SMEs24|| #EquityBankUganda
