@RealKidPoker It doesn’t make sense but also it’d be kind of weird if you won the $8k without calling or raising

Dumbest ruling I’ve seen in a while and it happened to me I limp 5k Artur makes it 13k on the button Both blinds fold he throws his hand into the muck They rule the 5k stays but the other 8k he gets back Makes literally no sense and it’s an open opportunity to angle

Alec Torelli | Poker & Decision Making
People ask me about the ideal stop loss. I've argued for 3 buy-ins. The truth is, many would be better off at two. Some people I've worked with tilt after losing one! This simple observation is based on the fact that most players, most of the time, play notably worse while losing. If you are unsure about whether you fall into this category, you most likely do. Put another way, you would know (assuming you're being objective) if you can play well when losing several buy-ins. Naturally, there is no one size fits all. What is right for you will depend on many factors including when and how it was lost, who it was lost to, whether you were up before you lost, and ultimately, how you react to this particular loss in this particular moment. Self-awareness is key to assessing your individual situation. That said, as a general rule, if I were forced to choose between a 2 buy-in stop loss vs. 4 buy-in stop loss, I'd recommend two. Put another way, most quit poker sessions too late. It's rare to quit too early.
