Austin isn't big enough to swing the entire state blue, but if cities like Dallas and Houston become more like Austin - then you could have a California style shift. In smaller states with one major city - all you have to do is take over that city to shift the entire culture.

City officials have confirmed that federal immigration operations have occurred at Dallas Love Field, after months of activists protesting what they believe are ICE-related flights.
The Dallas Morning News witnessed people in restraints boarding and leaving a plane at a private aviation terminal this week. City officials say Dallas has no authority over flights conducted by ICE, while activists are calling for the city to review its lease with the private operator involved.
ICE did not respond to questions about its use of Love Field, and Signature Aviation would not confirm any activity related to ICE.
