Francisco Alvarez sure does seem to be working harder than ever to have more patience at plate. Have to keep believing that all star Alvarez is possibly looming here. These random pass balls obviously need to get figured out too in all honesty to keep things fair.

@AlyssaRose With all due respect, this is a lazy take. Anyone can have one good game. Soto is the only guy in the lineup people truly fear, and the only legit power threat who can carry a lineup. Without him, the rest of the lineup is very pitchable. Let’s hope we don’t have to see it

Soto is obviously a key piece and he’s invaluable, but that “worst lineup in all of baseball” put up 9 runs without him.

Calf injuries are never minor. Even if it’s just a strain, Soto is gonna be out like two months. The only way it’s not as if it’s just a cramp, but they wouldn’t be sending him for an MRI for just a cramp.

If Alvarez wasn’t a complete joke this inning would be totally different. That said, McLean is not as sharp this year. He’s not throwing as many strikes and he’s not putting guys away as cleanly.

Alvarez is awful at the challenge system. Awful. What are you saving them for?!

No telling yet the seriousness of Soto's calf tightness but he has been exceptionally durable. Since 2019 he has played at least 150 games in every non-Covid season. Last 3 years he missed a total of 5 games. That said, calf injuries can be notoriously tricky/slow to heal.

Calf injury for Soto. Can’t invent a worse start for the team. Better have these 2 runs hold up tonight. Offense is done for the day. You can already see it. They are completely done putting up good ABs.
