The latest spiderman game spent more money in development than the combination of every spiderman movie ever made. Bloat is the problem. Smaller development teams are rocking. Triple A slop is hit or miss, with the recent reputation being more missing than hitting. There must be a reason beyond just budget.

@TopherKern They are probably not at the same budget scale like big companies. But maybe that's the problem... Maybe big companies have too many people working on their games? It always seems off when you look at credits and you see job titles like "Super Duper Assistant Manager Designer"

@RiiinGoblue It's 90% smashing which is very fun. But before long it's almost no different than power wash simulator on turbo speed. I wouldn't even classify the game as a platformer to be compared to odyssey. It's a collect a thon game similar to banjo and dk64.

@TopherKern From watching it seems like it is just way to much smashing and not enough of anything else.

DK Bananza: Ending of the game is a 10/10. Rest of the game is 7ish/10. Lots of mindless fun, but too much mindless fun ends up feeling empty and superficial.
