Was his bedroom a self-described a shrine to the Leafs? Yes.
Was Mats Sundin his idol? Yes.
Did he say being a Maple Leaf would be an absolute dream come true? Yes.
Did he sign a 2-year extension to put Edmonton on the clock? Yes.
Did he recently say the organization has taken a step back? Yes.
Is this a serious blow to Edmonton's chances of keeping him? Yes.
Should Edmonton trade him within a year if they know he's going to walk? Yes.
Is it at all possible either side would look to expedite that process given where the team's at? Yes.
Would a trade with Toronto likely be Edmonton's only chance at getting a 1st overall pick back in a return for McDavid? Yes.

Gun to his head, if you asked Connor McDavid the two places he'd want to win a Stanley Cup the most, is there good reason to believe his answer would be Edmonton & Toronto? Yes.

You can disagree or say it won't happen, but you can't deny any basis for the speculation. I'd be shocked if it happened.

@mcclusk What brings you to the conclusion that McDavid has "always" had Toronto at the back of his mind? Outside of Eastern media constantly pushing this, has McDavid ever said anything to suggest that? I don't think so.
