Hello mutuals and followers! Just wanted to put it out there that I land in the UK on a 3-year visa (HPI visa) on Jan 1st 2024! I'll be living in Surrey for a while until I find a postdoc or a cute little village to live in. Preferably near hedgehogs and badgers ❤️🦔🦡

@daisyldixon I feel your pain! Dating apps are so toxic, I detest that they are the 'standard' way of interacting romantically. You just have to be kind to yourself, that it most probably wasn't anything you did - you can never know what's happening for another that makes them disappear/ghost

I am officially giving up on dating apps. Just tried 1 again for the 1st time in ages. Matched with a guy. Had a nice back&forth, expressed how gorgeous the other was. Spoke about our jobs. I then ask what he studied at uni (his profile mentions it) He then suddenly unmatches me.

@daisyldixon Stonehenge is one of the greatest surviving monolithic structures of ancient ancient earth, built in reverence of the earth and sun. Why a movement trying to protect the earth would target and damage a site that basically champions their cause is unfathomable.

@TheAngryOlogist Same! I was having zero luck in Australia 2.5 years post-PhD, so I moved to the literal other side of the world (UK) thinking that my options would be better... I'm now at 40+ applications, only one interview (didn't get job), and above 90% rate of no response at all ☠️

@Naomi_D_Harvey @Paula_JKnight I've tried both CBD oil and THC oil separately for my ME. CBD oil had no tangible effects until I reached a dosage that was prohibitively expensive. THC apparently does mad things to my brain and perception esp at sleep time- like drops of electricity rippling through my brain 🥴

@Paula_JKnight So it could be bad for many of us, but clearly it also has benefits such as being mast cell stabilising and anti-inflammatory, as well as for pain control. So it’s a mixed bag really. I’ve never tried it myself.
