The integrity of the American electoral system has vanished. The two-party system led to a standoff which, over time, resulted in improper behavior on the part of party leadership of both the Democrats and the Republicans. Rather than recognizing his decline and allowing for an open primary, the Democratic leadership tried to retain the advantage of incumbency at all costs. Instead of encouraging Biden to Step down or at least announce his intention to vacate office after one term, they tried to slip a candidate in at the 11th hour without allowing the people of their own party to have a voice. I know many people in the Republican Party who were not big fans of the sitting president in his first term, And I know few Democrats who were thrilled at the selection of Harris simply because she was the sitting vice president. Reading the post below makes clear that President Trump Is not fit to represent the United States of America. Today is a solemn day in the history of humanity. IT IS A GOOD DAY. To see our leader threatening to send people to hell, destroying bridges and wiping out their energy grid, should be enough for all of us to raise our voices in dissent. Please join me in sending this message telling the president that his message did not find you well.

Inflation tracker update, brisket at Rudy's is up another 14%. Cumulative dollar inflation of 22% over past 18 months. 14.9% compounded annually. $16.49 per "half"-pound vs. $13.49. $33/lb at budget bbq is cooked. Risk of quantum computing overstated, risk of fiat understated.

Brisket at my local Rudy’s, which is some of the best bbq in Texas and better than any in TN, just increased 7% from last week. If you are a business owner, raising dollar prices is a vicious and endless problem that only bitcoin can fix in the end. You need an actual solution.

@TXMCtrades Yes there would and many would be unpleasant, at first. Imo it's why we won't see Bitcoin as everyday money, at least in the next 50 years.

This is precisely the debate I've had with Bitcoiner deflationistas for ages who seem only to have read The Bitcoin Standard and The Price of Tomorrow. The CAUSE of deflation matters for the outcome. And rigidly inelastic money doesn't guarantee productivity, it can even harm it.
George Selgin@GeorgeSelgin

Claiming that deflation is always harmless is no better than claiming that it’s slways harmful. Both positions ignore the difference between deflation stemming from very low or negative growth aggregate spending and deflation reflecting productivity growth.

@LizardWizardBTC Calling Amazon's growth "organic" when they spent 10-15 years not turning a profit, undercutting the competition and living off the promise of tomorrow's profits is rich. The same people criticizing the last 2 years of MSTR would've criticized Amazon 20 years ago.

? How did they create net negative shareholder value given they now hold 762,000 BTC and have a fixed income product that's light years better than anything else on the market? When I got in they had less than 40K BTC and no fixed income product, and BTC was 20K instead of 70K
Michael from Montana@WellspringGP

@LizardWizardBTC Big difference: Amazon created net shareholder value through organic growth and ROI MSTR created net negative value through losses on bitcoin, debt / pref interest service and operating losses. More than 100% of the increase is losses transferred from shares issued at $150+

@BitcoinTeacher_ Gemini is 4% cash back on gas & 3% at restaurants. Other than that literally any 0% card and hold the balance in cash/STRC and make the minimum monthly til the interest free period is up. ~.01 Bitcoin between the interest I received and cash back in the last year.

@Hamoncann @LawrenceLepard Depends how much oil infrastructure was destroyed, and how long it takes to bring supply back up. We have a ~17M BPD supply disruption now. Covid was a ~20M BPD demand disruption. The longer it's off the more they'll have to print, except they can't print oil...

Lawrence Lepard, "fix the money, fix the world"
As my book details nearly every major inflation in US history came from war time spending starting in 1776 and 1812. WWI doubled the price level as did WWII. The only exception is COVID which involved war like spending. So, what comes next....... Q: How we going to pay for this? A: Big Print (h/t @blockchainchick for chart).

@infraa_ Question, am I wrong in believing that after this point it will begin to diverge? I.E. instead of a gap down due to demand crash we would have a gap up due to a supply crash?

Based on Trump’s latest post, here’s the victory some Americans died for and the rest of us will pay for with debt & inflation: the regime stays in power, grows even more hard-line, Iranians hate America even more, and oil prices stay permanently higher. Other than that, we win.

strategy holds $50 billion worth of btc the problem: it's not really worth $50B if @saylor ever tries to sell, he'll get no more than $20B for it. probably less every additional dollar he puts into btc from now on is lost forever. he already has more btc than he can ever sell
