Opposing Coach: (Calls time) -Checks our courtesy runner to make sure it’s the right one. -Takes 2 mound visits. -Argues 3 calls, wants 2nd opinions. -Slowly walks to 3B box each inning. Me: (Mound visit in last inning, pretty key moment) OC: “Come on Coach! Quit stalling!”

@SwagnShades First 2 years combined… 558 ABs, 24 2Bs, 39 HRs, 98 RBIs, .301 AVG This year… 372 ABs, 25 2Bs, 36 HRs, 81 RBIs, .282 AVG I would think most coaches would prefer the higher SLG, OPS and sacrifice a little on the AVG

@TosserOfThings To put it in real world terms: Tatis had an avg LA of 8.7 deg, and his avg EV was over 95.9 in 2020. This year he’s “down” to 94.2 bc his LA is up (13.5). He’s hitting FB better, but off-speed worse.

When someone talks to you about your LA, keep this in mind.👇 On 100mph ground balls, 224 MLB hitters hit .400 or better. A “just missed” 90 mph fly ball, saw only 10 hitters hit .200 or better on them. Since you’re not gonna match the plane of every pitch, get to it quick.

@SwagnShades He also is driving the ball a lot more this year. Wouldn’t you want his “down” this year compared to last year?

@rapsodo There has got to be a better way. You are charging college programs the same amount you’re charging someone who uses it alone for their 11 kids. Crazy to think it’s a good idea. And the selling point of “more coaches accounts” is a joke when it’s 1 coach.

@tx_pierce I think that 11-12 range (from what I’ve seen) kids are playing more (which I don’t agree with). So if you’re playing more there has got to be some benefits from a hitters standpoint of facing new arms/ heights/ releases/ etc. Especially if you’re running scrimmages at practice.

@TosserOfThings Not being a jack wagon. But why not 10s and 11s. Baseball isn't that crucial there. Gives them 12 13 14 15 to figure out how to get giys out in strikezone. What gets called for k 12 and below is insane. But I get why. Switch it up.

9u - 11u baseball problems 1. Strike throwing 2. Curveball 3. Plate umpire Solution Pitchers pitch to own team. 7 pitches to help your hitter get a hit. Must go thru full mechanics. No lobbing. If after 7 he doesn't get a hit. Out. Both pitchers and hitters responsible now

@frcastorenaPHS Embrace the grind! 3 different types of competition.. 1st is with yourself, 2nd is with your teammates, and then those 2 prepare you for 3rd which is opponents.

2 absolutely different conversations between coach and parent... “Why is my kid not playing infield?” “What does my kid have to improve to earn some infield time?”

Players if you aren’t getting feedback, pointers, mechanics breakdown, video etc at “sports camps” you are wasting your time and money. Exposure doesn’t make you better!!!!
