That first puzzle is gonna be a litmus test in Crimson Desert to determine if you grew up on old school video games or you only played Sony cinematic games that hold your hand A lot of people exposing themselves on Twitter for being the latter

@EndymionYT It's refreshing. Very refreshing. This is basically a game that would have been GOTY AY if it came out during 2005-2010... a time before gaming got diluted by game urinalists without a single braincell and an audience of Press A to Awesome.

Played about 7 hours of Crimson Desert so far, the best way I can explain this game it's like Dragon's Dogma got fused with an old school adventure game, like old school Zelda. It's very obtuse, weird at times. The mission structure is very odd, you complete missions by helping townsfolk for all kinds of things. I had to find cows that were taken, but I needed to use a special helmet to view the memory of the bad guys at the scene, but to use it, I had to put the helmet on, click it in a sub menu & then select a memory. There's a lot of really weird obtuse things like this in Crimson Desert, it is not a game I think most people will understand at first, but I can tell the more I play it's a game that is going to be very deep mechanically the more I put into it. It feels like old school Zelda to me in the way that nothing is holding my hand, things just happen, I just find things & stories unfold. The combat is pretty good so far, I like how the powers can be used. For example you can chop a tree down, pick it up with your nature power & use it as a pole to smash enemies to death. You can also drop kick dudes & leap off your horse in mid air & Hulk smash enemies. Again a very weird game, definitely not the standard AAA western gaming is used to which is evident. But I'm keen to keep peeling this onion, cause this game is rewarding, but it's definitely a weird one.

@SpawnYaardReply @AyoKnight1 You actually can FF time. When you have a mission that takes place day/night and there's text 'wait until the correct time', look at the bottom right corner. You should see an hourglass icon over the Start (space, options, etc) button. Press to fast forward instantly.

@SpawnYaardReply Upgrade Stamina ASAP. Your starting stamina lets you do literally nothing. Get it to 200 ASAP and then upgrade Axiom Force. The game opens up once you gain the ability to Spiderman.

Fun Fact from Crimson Desert #3 You can use trees to perform a high jump then use Force Palm up to three times to jump even higher.

@Geniustechw #3 as Primary and #2 as Secondary. I fully intend to jump right in front of them with a SURPRISE ASSHOLE! before unloading point blank. If they somehow survive, #2 gets unloaded as they attempt to flee.

@iYatoAlt You don't HAVE to, but it makes life a lot easier since the contextual prompts activation range is too restricted.

@JayViperTV The real issue for a lot of ppl is until you start unlocking some combat abilities and traversal abilities, the game is slow and repetitive. Because of how large and spread out things are and also due to no hand holding, there are zero hints of where to go to learn abilities.

Crimson Desert NOT getting rave reviews on Steam, that's for sure. I read through a bunch of reviews and it's a mix of lack of story and difficult combat and goofy keybinds. Total vouch from me on the keybinds. Even rebinding keys doesn't fully help because even if two binds share a key (ex: CTRL) and you move one, you cannot move the other to the same key. That frustrating af. Also the requirement to hit multiple keys for some basic tasks, like talking is silly. I would highly recommend using a controller, it does help. Unfortunately for me! My controller LB broke so I am locked to K&M until I grab a new one later today. But I've found the combat actually great. There's loads of variation and it has a great parry system. I do wonder if people are button mashing because that, you cannot not because it will lock you out of parry/block. Use timed attacks to flow with battle. It helps! (think: SIFU) There is also no difficulty option (Journo/Normal/Hard) so you play the game at its set difficulty, even bosses. There's no being walked through puzzles either, you have to figure them out on your own. (HINT: Remember your skills) Comments do seem to support the game running very well. Even negative reviews point that out and I think that was my biggest worry going into the game. I highly recommend the game, but definitely think if non-button-mashing combat is for you.

@CrimsonDesert_ Inventory is truly garbage, this needs to be fixed ASAP. Second is controller remapping, FULL remapping needs to be allowed as your defaults just are not good. Yes, they can be adapted to, but they are not good.

@SpawnYaardReply Yeah? I mean... maybe this is my old 40+ year old head talking but this shit is nothing compared to how puzzles used to be back in the day. They literally told you flat out what to do! What more did you need? Guiding lines and yellow paint?!

If you are stuck here in Crimson Desert, the answer is in the comments. I don't know if it was a stupid design or I am but I was stuck here for a good half hour. Was it obvious for you all?🤷

@Riftwalkergame Your game already looks FAR superior to SW Outlaws. That being said tho, low bar... That game is nothing but millions of dollars of baked assets thrown together by a DIEversity team who have no idea how to make a game. Still, a win is a win!
