When HC at Charlotte, we were up two with 10 seconds versus Cinci. Kenyon Martin was a sophomore and a bad foul shooter. Put my smartest forward on him and told him to deny but if KMart caught it to foul. Did so and missed front end of 1+1. Charlotte wins!!

This is the most sane article I’ve seen thus far… I generally like government to stay out of my business, but I think they are crucial to saving college athletics and there must be a spending cap because the arms race is not only crazy, it’s unsustainable and he mentioned that exact thing in this article. No business would be allowed to operate in the red like these athletic departments are doing. I think what’s not said is that this current state is driving fans away and it’s only gonna get worse if it’s not fixed and a competitive balance is restored and that private equity and big boosters throwing money at championships goes away.

Very fascinating read here. It is well worth the read.
