A lot of foreigners come to Japan for sushi, ramen, and wagyu. Then somehow they end up sitting in a tiny izakaya, getting excited over chicken skin on a stick. That’s the funny part. It’s not luxury food. It’s not a famous tourist dish. It’s just yakitori. Momo. Kawa. Sunagimo. Tsukune. Bonjiri. Liver. Heart. Japan didn’t make chicken fancier. They made every tiny part worth trying. Have you tried yakitori yet? It’s one of my favorite Japanese foods. Especially with a cold Japanese beer.
