I have received with deep sorrow and a heavy heart the tragic news of the passing of Mrs Lilian Mujuru and her five beloved children, Nokutenda, Makanaka, Ronald Junior, Rufaro Shalom and little Kayden, who lost their lives in a fatal road traffic accident along Masvingo Road near Mvuma. This is a painful loss beyond words a heartbreaking tragedy that has robbed one family of six precious lives in a single moment. As a mother, grandmother, I am deeply moved by the sorrow that has befallen the Mujuru family, and I extend my sincere condolences to Mr Ronald Mujuru, the bereaved husband and father, as well as to the extended family, friends and the church community. I am imagining the anguish and emptiness that this tragedy has left behind. May the Almighty God grant Mr Mujuru strength and comfort during this unimaginably difficult time, and may the nation stand with him in prayer, compassion and solidarity. I also urge all road users to exercise the utmost caution and responsibility on our roads so that we may prevent such devastating tragedies that continue to claim innocent lives and leave families shattered. May the souls of departed rest in eternal peace.

Yesterday, President Dr @edmnangagwa, a God-fearing leader, joined thousands of Zion Christian Church (ZCC) congregants gathered at Mbungo Estates in Masvingo for their annual Easter conference. The gathering, one of the largest in Zimbabwe’s Christian calendar, brought together worshippers from across the nation and beyond. His attendance highlighted the strong bond between national leadership and faith communities during this sacred season of reflection and renewal.

Commercial banks are set to start releasing the new Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG) notes to the public from Tuesday. According to the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) @ReserveBankZIM, enough currency has been supplied to meet demand. The rollout will be gradual, beginning with ZiG10, ZiG20, and ZiG50 denominations, which will be accessible at ATMs and banking halls this week. This phased approach is meant to ensure a smooth introduction of the new notes into circulation.

Minister of State for National Security and ZANU PF Politburo Member, Hon. Lovemore Matuke, addressed hundreds of congregants gathered at the Easter Conference of Bethlehem International Church, led by Archbishop Edborn Gwatidzo. In his message, Hon. #CAB3 Zvaendwa!!!

On Good Friday, Defence Minister Honourable Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri joined inmates at Harare Central Prison for a church service, delivering a message of hope, dignity, and rehabilitation in the spirit of a caring mother. The inmates expressed heartfelt appreciation, saying her presence gave them renewed strength and encouragement for the future.

With the Public Hearings now complete, Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 moves into the critical parliamentary phase, where the voices of the people are formally translated into law. The widespread support expressed across the nation leaves little uncertainty about the path ahead. Once Parliament endorses the Bill and the President gives assent, CAB3 will not simply adjust the Constitution-it will bring it into harmony with the people’s will and the governing party’s resolutions. In practice, this amendment secures leadership continuity through to 2030, firmly within constitutional bounds. This is not conjecture, but the outcome of a lawful, structured, and broadly supported process. The people have spoken. Parliament will confirm. The Constitution will chart the course to 2030.

During President Dr @edmnangagwa’s visit to Ghana, His Excellency toured the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, highlighting the Zimbabwe–Ghana partnership in advancing Heritage-Based Tourism under the recently signed Tourism MoU. With Ghana renowned for its heritage preservation, the collaboration opens avenues for knowledge exchange while drawing inspiration from Zimbabwe’s globally recognized Eco-Tourism model. The President also visited the Accra Compost and Recycling Plant, reinforcing the strategic importance of the Geo Pomona MoU. By engaging with Geo Pomona Waste Management Pvt Ltd, the partnership places sustainable waste management at the heart of building clean, competitive, and resilient tourism destinations.

Minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, Hon. Ziyambi Ziyambi, has clarified that the Constitutional Amendment (No. 3) Bill does not require a referendum, as the proposed changes fall outside sections of the Constitution that mandate one. He explained that with the 90-day public consultation period concluded, Parliament will now receive a consolidated report of submissions. The Bill is set for formal introduction in the week of 18 May, when the Minister will deliver the Second Reading speech outlining its clauses and objectives, followed by debate in the National Assembly.

H.E. President Dr @edmnangagwa together with his Ghanaian counterpart, H.E. President @JDMahama, presided over the signing of ten Memoranda of Understanding between Zimbabwe and Ghana. These agreements represent a major milestone in advancing bilateral ties and expanding cooperation across critical sectors.

Today afternoon, the Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development, Hon. Adv. F. T. Mhona, inaugurated the 2026 Easter and Independence Road Safety Awareness and Enforcement Campaign. As part of the initiative, more than 40 mobile teams will be deployed across major highways nationwide to help prevent road traffic accidents during the holiday period.

President Dr @edmnangagwa met his Ghanaian counterpart, John Dramani Mahama, at the Peduase State Valley Resort in Accra, where the two leaders reaffirmed the enduring friendship between Zimbabwe and Ghana. President Mahama commended the cordial relations and urged the swift implementation of existing agreements, particularly in mining and agriculture, to ensure mutual growth. President Mnangagwa, in turn, applauded Ghana for hosting the inaugural session of the Zimbabwe–Ghana Joint Permanent Commission on Cooperation, which has created a structured framework to advance bilateral ties. He emphasized that Zimbabwe’s engagement policy is rooted in economic emancipation, noting that the visit heralds a new era of relations anchored on economic cooperation, strategic partnerships, and improving the livelihoods of citizens in both nations.

Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development, Ambassador Dr. Feredrick Shava, warmly welcomed Dr. Lloyd from the British Council together with Embassy staff during their courtesy visit at the Mgandane Dlodlo Building in Harare.

A major upgrade is on the way for Chiremba Road in Harare, with plans to build an overpass at the busy Chiremba–Glenara intersection. The project will modernize the road and establish a seamless link stretching from Robert Mugabe Way, through Braeside and Epworth, all the way to Mutare Road near George Shops. Once complete, this development will close the existing gap, strengthen the southern transport corridor, ease traffic flow, and divert heavy through-traffic away from surrounding residential areas.
