The 1997 movie Contact, starring Jodie Foster and Matthew McConaughey, proved to be a solid hit for Warner Bros. A science fiction film with profound philosophical undertones, based on a novel by Carl Sagan. What makes Contact stand out is that it's not really about aliens in the typical action movie sense. It's more about belief, curiosity, and the conflict between science and faith.

watching STARSHIP TROOPERS for the first time (yeah yeah I know) only to discover it's a stupidly huge movie. gigantic miniatures, smart use of VFX, massive sets, every frame packed with endless extras. it looks amazing. unironically one of the great spectacles of the 90s
