I will say something true and real and naked about myself: make of it what you will. Sometimes, I hit up the Snipping Tool app. I'm just sitting: it's a normal day; I feel normal. Okay. I don't know whether you know the Snipping Tool app. Fuck you if you don't - disembark. Disembark from this tweet. Sometimes, I hit the snipping tool app, and it (I know this is serial killer behaviour) - I hit - (I could be looking at anything) - I hit the Snipping Tool app ... (sorry, this is difficult 😨) ... I have it open ... and I know what I'm going to do and I - I can't stop it: I will Snipping Tool something on the screen. What I don't understand - this compulsion - where I end and the compulsion takes over: it could be anything, I will Snipping Tool it, and you might say, 'Well, no big deal, anyone can Snipping Tool anything, you can Snipping Tool anything, no one gives a fuck.' Oh, you live in that world. Okay. I wrote this tweet as a biographical anchor tweet to pin and so you will know me - the real me. Okay.

@Glinner @mgtruth I think it's not stupid to consider the idea of a person being transitory - we're all transitory: moving forth in time. I think there's some confusion about the fear of death: that rapidly changing sex might ward it off. But no.

@mgtruth What is it then? If it exists? What is a 'trans person'?

As she takes centuries of global observations and studies and recognition of trans gender and throws them in the bin. We’re now at the open denial of the existence of trans and it’s ugly to watch. As ugly as the homophobia of the 80s.

@MayorFrey It was sad he died, but it was from a drug overdose and railroading an innocent man didn’t bring him back. You wept at his coffin while your city burned

Today, we remember George Floyd, who was murdered by a former Minneapolis police officer six years ago.   That moment changed our city forever.

There is a lot of individual variation with tolerance to alcohol. So I am not sure what to make of this. In some ways he sounds like a pansy. But he also has a point. Yesterday, I drank approx 1.5 pints of a 4.6% Helles lager, 440ml of a 4% novelty sour and I had a double Johnny Black whisky over the course of about 7 hours on a little bank holiday road trip. I got up this morning feeling fine and I went for a 5k run in the midday, alleged heatwave sun, because I am hench, I have sensational lung capacity and strong legs like my mother to run for cover when I need it. Shakira Shakira. Aferwards, I cooked a seafood lunch for my family with champagne. As a bank holiday treat. And shortly, I will be firing up t'oven for ribs and Koftas. I drink regularly, always with people and I never get paralytic or even terribly wasted due to chronic emetphobia since early childhood and I rarely have an hangover unless I've been on't lash. Which I rarely go on now because family life. I simply can't relate to this "feeling ruined" after 3 glasses of wine. BUT I also rarely drink wine. Theres a difference between a pint of 3%-5% pint, tinny or bottle, of a nice lager, cask or keg and a glass(es) of wine which is usually 12-14% per bottle. I adore whisky and I am slowly convincing my other half to invest in barrels. What does everyone else drink? And how much? And how often? Because I wouldn't drink at all if it genuinely ruined half my week. I drink a small amount compared to an average male but appropriate modest amounts for my petite female height and weight. What are you drinking? How much? And how often? And do you regularly feel ruined after 3 glasses of your chosen tipple?

Steven Bartlett says a few glasses of wine ruined the next 3 days of his life “It's one of those areas where you don't understand the hidden cost until you really give it up for a while. I stopped drinking at 30 years old. I'm now 33. When I was 31, I thought, I'll have a drink again because now I could really A/B test it. I had a year of not drinking, decided to have a drink again” “It ruined three days of my life. I had a couple of glasses of wine, didn't get drunk. It ruined three days of my life because of the domino effect it caused” “I got worse sleep that night, and then because I got worse sleep that night, I ate more poorly the next day because my dopamine system or whatever, the cortisol system was all messed up. I podcasted worse. I didn't go to the gym that day or the day after because I felt really bad. I then slept worse, and I could track all of this on my Whoop”

@annakhachiyan A lady asked me 'for a hug' in the park the other night - pitch dark, no one around. A bit of chitchat beforehand, but still ... she was about fifty. Gave her a hug. What am I - a hug-denying bitch? Hell naw.

People laugh but this will be a major epidemic in just a decade or two, unlocking new galaxy brain tiers of mental illness and granting final legitimacy to the assisted suicide industry

A lot of women think they’re gonna be ok later in life being alone cuz they’re used to it now but I suspect being alone in your 20s and 30s while still receiving ample male attention will feel much different than being alone in your 40s and 50s. Pride

What I always liked about this photograph was its background, the image of a happy family, a mother holding her son’s hand, a child running through a field, that familial conventionality, perhaps even happiness, which Joyce would never experience, not even once.

For Kingdom of Heaven (2005), the King of Morocco provided around 1,500 real Moroccan soldiers to appear in the battle scenes. Their military discipline allowed Ridley Scott to stage massive battlefield maneuvers practically instead of relying on CGI.
