@DRFGrening @DailyRacingForm Scratches should only be made by the track vet. Follow the Japanese lead.
English

@GiddyUpBets Flanders winning the 1994 Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies.
English

@raypaulick Follow the Japanese lead and scratches must come with a Vet certificate. Owner or trainer not allowed to scratch a horse.
English

By my count there are 17 scratches so far on today’s 14-race Preakness card at Laurel Park. None are regulatory vet scratches, according to Equibase.

@Zipseatthetrack You were hoping your Preakness was half as good as your Derby & Breeders Cup. Rolling with the same.
English

@JoshIsner The first principals approach is exactly what the Jockey Club needs to adapt. Now.

@LvilleFan1 How many did she win a shake for? How many were being dumped by the big barns? New York doesn’t breed the amount of horses to sustain their racing program. She’s just doing it on a larger scale that’s what has been happening for decades.

@TheNYRA @JOCKEYSMARIN Klaravich stables just keeps on rolling out tough 3 YO’s in Growth Equity yesterday and Hedge Ratio today.
English

HEDGE RATIO, a winner at Aqueduct in his last start, wins the Long Branch Stakes at Monmouth under @JOCKEYSMARIN for trainer Chad Brown.
English

@kaitlinebenson Diamond Necklace is a serious undefeated filly.
English

@ChurchillDowns @MindyColeman At Keeneland this Spring was sitting next to us with his family and friends. His horse got scratched that day. Just shrugged and moved on and was accommodating to fans who asked for pictures etc….he loves this game and it shows.
English

@DRFGrening @LindaRiceRacing Lezcano & Rice are a dominating duo.
Español

Munnings Express takes AQU opener in gate to wire fashion at 1/5. Lezcano for @LindaRiceRacing , who also sent out runner-up Atarah. 4-3-2-1

@HorseToWatch Unconventional sometimes is what you need at 30-1.

@hhhracingpod @BreedersCup Reminds of Life is Good. Won the BC Mile then the next year they try the Classic. Nothing wrong with being the best miler in the world which Crude Velocity could be.
English

Smart. Not because of the short 2-week preparation, but more due to my opinion that he doesn't want to go a distance beyond 1 1/16th (MAYBE 1 1/8th given the right scenario). He will be an absolute beast between 6 - 8 furlongs. My @BreedersCup Dirt Mile pick right now.
Brian Zipse@Zipseatthetrack
Another top contender will pass on the Preakness. CRUDE VELOCITY is out.
English

@racinglucyx @InfoArqana Thank you for sharing. Awesome information.

Lot 60 - An agile chestnut filly by Flightline out of the black type Miss Mosaic.
This fillies stride measured between 126-130 °. Massive.

@thoroughcrowd @atTheTrack7 @MollyJoRosen @HSIndyRacing Makes perfect sense. If Flightline was 1M at the sales and is now worth 189M (saw this not verified) how many of those yearling misses does this make up for? The big hits make up for all the misses.
English

@TrackThatHorse @atTheTrack7 @MollyJoRosen @HSIndyRacing You can't really analyze stud deals with publicly available information. You could make some estimates, but syndication values aren't usually public, what percentage is paid out to owners isn’t public, etc. Partnership markups are also hard to find at times.
English

Eclipse Thoroughbreds debuted a 4 year old in a $30,000 Maiden Claiming race just there at @HSIndyRacing that cost $725,000 as a yearling. Was bet down to even money and ran last.
English

@atTheTrack7 @MollyJoRosen @HSIndyRacing @thoroughcrowd That’s really interesting. Does the data just show yearling purchases that don’t pan out or does it include yearling that do make it and get stud deals?
English

@MollyJoRosen @HSIndyRacing We (my ownership group @thoroughcrowd) have many years of data that shows how much money major operations lose on big yearling purchases. The numbers would stun a team of oxen in their tracks.
English

@EJXD2 @stet_dot_net The Derby is an event like going to Keeneland is an event. Yes, people like horses but they go for the pageantry and the social aspect. Bluegrass day at Keeneland half the people left before the Bluegrass ran because it was race 13.
English

@stet_dot_net I’d argue that the Derby cliff has the steepest drop off.
English

@Tylersousa20 @danielwoerner Run a Turf Triple Crown at Keeneland, Saratoga, & Del Mar.
English

@danielwoerner Yes ! Turf racing in America needs some sort of “series” too.
