We lived in Alberta and had a "curious" cashier at Walmart. He said "Can I ask you a personal question". I was with my husband and 6 month old twin boys. He proceeded to ask me, "How did THIS happen" (circling his hands at the stroller, then between myself and my husband) a 🧵1/

Myself & @husbandofamiev1 were in Costco with our kids. This white man from #Edmonton could not STOP staring at us. Others were there with masks on, so I know it wasn’t that. He kept shaking his head at us & our kids. My husband kept staring back. Reminds me when we lived in AB/1

Just taking a moment to cry in my car because I’m angry at myself for freezing instead of speaking up when some people started making anti-Asian racist remarks while I was in a store. I feel scared and completely lose my voice in these situations.

@ESL_fairy My 7YO was having microphone issues with her chromebook. Her teacher emailed, googled possible solutions and had google meets with me in between classes to sort it out. He even let her other teachers know about the mic issue. He went above and beyond! #snitchPositive

My in-risk high schoolers held an impromptu pet show and tell. Like dominos, cameras turned on, students showed off their pets and excitedly learned about animals and each other, unmuted. It doesn’t matter that we strayed from curriculum: mental health was boosted today. 💕

@AmyTanMD My middle name is Shuk Yan...I spent my entire childhood trying to hide it, and then was terribly embarrassed each time it came out. I am proud of my middle name, and have asked my parents to give my children Chinese names too, so they can be proud of that part of their culture.

I think we need to plan as though the days leading up to April Break may be our last in-person school days for awhile. If you have any tech in your schools, please be sure that any newcomers know how to log into their email accounts and online classrooms. Set them up for success.
