Too on point not to share, “Aussie reply to Trump rant about NATO not being there for us. Mate. You run a country with 600,000 homeless people sleeping on the street tonight. A country where 40% of adults can't cover a $400 emergency without borrowing money. A country where insulin costs more than a car payment and people are rationing it to survive. A country where medical debt is the number 1 cause of bankruptcy. A country where women are dying in hospital car parks because doctors are too scared of abortion laws to treat a miscarriage. You lock up more of your own citizens than any nation on earth. More than China. More than Russia. More than North Korea. The land of the free has 2 million people in cages, and a quarter of them haven't even been convicted of anything. They're just too poor to make bail. Your life expectancy is going backwards. You're the only developed nation where that's happening. Your infant mortality rate is worse than Cuba's. Your kids do active shooter drills between maths and English while you sell the gunmaker's stock to your mates. Your minimum wage hasn't moved in 15 years. You've got teachers working 2 jobs and veterans sleeping under bridges and you just spent a trillion dollars flattening a country that didn't attack you. And you’ve got a convicted felon, adjudicating raping, paedophile protecting, porn star shagging insurrectionist running the biggest dumpster fire war campaign since the Taliban thanked you very much for losing again. And you're calling Greenland poorly run? Greenland has universal healthcare. Free education. One of the lowest incarceration rates in the world. Nobody goes bankrupt there because they got sick. Nobody dies in a waiting room because their insurance said no. "NATO wasn't there when we needed them." When exactly was that, champ? September 11? Because NATO invoked Article 5 for the first and only time in history FOR YOU. Soldiers from dozens of countries deployed, fought, bled, and died in Afghanistan FOR YOU. Australia wasn't even in NATO and we still showed up. For 20 years. And you pulled out at 2am without telling anyone and left them to deal with the mess. So maybe before you start calling other countries poorly run, have a look at your own backyard, you spray-tanned aluminium siding salesman. @NormOrnstein I am a nurse practitioner, over 70, and i Ask patients the same thing and give them five words to remember. I asked them to repeat it back to me later in the visit. Neither of us could remember the correct words.

Last year, while visiting my son in LA, I got an ear infection. Went to the MinuteClinic. The nurse practitioner said to me, "I am going to give you five words, and will ask you after I ask questions if you can remember them." 1

But the real problem with Trump’s second term is that even when he gets it right, he gets it wrong.  Americans wanted that southern border closed to illegals. But they never asked for federal agents to scour their cities looking for migrants who slipped in years ago and have since paid their taxes and obeyed the laws.  When the brave people of Iran really needed him he was missing in action.  Americans were happy to see the back of Maduro but it never crossed their minds Trump would do a deal with the rest of the Maduro dictatorship and attempt to run Venezuela through them. So much for spreading democracy.  Americans have largely had enough of foreign adventures which is why they don’t warm to his threats to Greenland, his nastiness to Canada, his general predisposition to be not just Imperial President of the United States but Imperial Overlord of the whole Western Hemisphere.  The US labour market grows weaker by the month. They’d rather he sort that out instead of obsessing about Greenland.  For those of us who are not Americans this has been the most troubling, unsettling of times. The world as we’ve known it, the world as it’s been for the past 80 years, the world which has given humanity these past eight decades the greatest general uplift in freedom and living standards in global history — for which America deserves much credit — has come to an end. Not just on Trump’s watch but by his doing. And for no good reason. The MAGA view is that America was exploited and taken for a sucker during these 80 years while others prospered. And, yes, we in Europe did well out of American hegemony. But no country did better than America. It was by far the biggest beneficiary of the post-war world.  Now democracy is in retreat, the autocrats are on the march, emboldened by Trump’s disregard for democracy and his soft spot for the strongmen of autocracy, indeed his desire to be one himself.  We are now in a world in which Trump has pretty much exempted himself from all the rules, foreign and domestic. And acts with a sense of impunity, as Europe’s leaders are finding out the hard way.  He says the only constraint on him is his own morality. Which as guardrails go most folks will think is on the flimsy side.  As Trump’s America retires into its Western Hemisphere redoubt, all those in Britain and elsewhere who used to baulk at American power are suddenly realising that a world without America is a much more dangerous, precarious place.  But America is about to learn that a world in which America has turned its back on its allies, excoriated them, even threatened to invade, is a much more dangerous, precarious place for America too.  After the first year of Trump’s second administration we — America and its allies — are all the losers. Only our enemies are smiling — because they now think they’re winning. And they are.

My son Brady was born with a heart defect, coarctation of the descending aorta, it was discovered just hours after he was born and he had surgery at just 3 days old, he has annual check ups, and medication every day, he's a law student going into his third year, today he is 21, I can't believe it, hes come so far and is achieving so much, can I kindly ask people say happy birthday to brady please so I can show him, kind regards Adam, proud Dad.
