I have no idea what is going on most of the time. I've seen many games in my life, but still don't know/understand the rules. It's a fun game to watch, moves very quickly and watching it with people who are hyper invested from all over the world in the outcome, has been a real thrill. Not sure I'll become a casual fan after the world cup, but this has been a great event all around.

All this culinary puffery is not only unnecessary, it's becoming another obnoxious way for owners to make massive profits that they won't spend on bettering the teams they are supposed to be running for the fans as much as they are their shareholders.
