@Nick_Newman His best film and one of the last masterpieces ever done in the 21st century
His worst is licorice pizza
English

PTA's worst film and a deficient take on a great novel.
The Film Stage 📽@TheFilmStage
Happy 10th anniversary ✌️
English

@CinemaScene404 The music in this scene is very good. Unforgettable, really.
English

did we all forget Emily Blunt, Elliot Page, & Elizabeth Debicki existed or is it just me???
Meech@MediumSizeMeech
She’s a woman in a Christopher Nolan film… what did anyone expect!?
English

@TraderCommo @mccrabb_will That first sentence is absurd
English

@NotFinny @mccrabb_will Boogie nights is maybe his worst
Inherent vice is 1, the master 2 then most likely TWBB
Inherent vice is heavily underrated due to the plot complexity and hallucinations- the photography, the music and acting are just perfect (and really funny)
English

@TraderCommo @mccrabb_will Ok don’t get carried away… the man made boogie nights and there will be blood
English

@mccrabb_will Coming from a Malick’s movie it is surprising indeed
English

@mccrabb_will @exZAACHHly The craft around the sound of this movie is amazing and really subtle

Also it’s interesting to find out that thinking Furiosa is a good bit better than Fury Road is considered blasphemous by some—both are brilliant, but I just think Furiosa offers so much more. Different ambitions with both though, you know? I get it.
Seth@sethsfilmreview
Rewatched Furiosa again today, and it seriously is like the coolest fucking thing ever.
English

@mccrabb_will Still better in color! A true visual and musical masterpiece
English

@letterboxd Blow Out. I saw it recently and it is an absolute masterpiece.
That ending...
English

Was an idea of Cassel who wanted to introduce his group band friends to fame
Dan Marcus@Danimalish
Imagine wanting to watch OCEAN'S 14 without Steven Soderbergh when this scene exists.

@QuintsVessel Best role in Miami Vice, best scene when he stalked at Colin dancing in the club
English

@DannyDrinksWine Twin peaks fire walk with me or Love Exposure or Mulholland Drive

@impression_ists Matisse created the abstraction in the movement whilst Cezanne did so for the color - Kandinsky combined both and thus emerged the abstract painting as a whole. Matisse is paramount in the history of Art
English

Henri Matisse and art were not destined to meet.
He was born into a humble family in a small, modest town.
His father, a grain merchant, insisted he study something "serious and important."
He even punished Henri for "wasting time" drawing.
They managed to send Henri to Paris to study law. Henri did not disobey.
He finished law school and became a lawyer.
But recovering from appendicitis led him to boredom and his mother gave him painting materials to keep him entertained.
And Matisse began to draw.
And that’s when his passion for art emerged.
"That's for starving vagabonds," was the mildest thing his father said.
But this time, Matisse did not obey his father.
A few years later, Henri Matisse was the most recognized and admired artist in France.
Also the richest.
Even then, his father never fully reconciled with Henri.
But Matisse not only disobeyed his father but also many of the rules of art:
🔹He abandoned academic painting to explore the free use of color, perspective, forms, exotic influences...
🔹He was part of new movements like Fauvism and created much of his work in experimental styles.
🔹Much of his experimentation received significant criticism. He didn't care. Many of his most recognized works today are part of those "experiments."
Challenge over and over.
Today, Modern Art cannot be understood without him.
But this post isn’t about Matisse’s art.
It’s just a reflection on how personal revolutions can change our seemingly predetermined destinies.
How many of us are capable of challenging our destiny to pursue our dreams?
