No such thing as price inflation. Inflation is always the debasement of the sovereign money not another countries money not the forex change not the change in one essential inelastic demand good. There is always just inflation unchanged or deflation and only in terms of value of money. If one doesn't understand this is impossible to understand macro economics or popularly understand ideas as to mandates if the central bank. To raise rates as a price spike in likes of crude or in response to policy tax raise as with a VAT tax only accelerates the deflation or hit to growth. In is perhaps the most serious error a central bank can make. Or the pair to a Burns like ease along with a fiscal expansion as in the 70s.
