This is a roll trade which happens all the time - especially near expiration in quarterly months. When we trade and accumulate positions, we hedge with the active ES FUTURE. This creates a term mismatch between the options we hold and their actual underlying (cash forward varies across maturities) We manage this as needed by trading combos (Call vs Put on same strike in same expiration). These four legged trades are called rolls. They have literally 0 market impact. In fact, they are completely detached from any care about direction and literally have no hedge when traded nor Greek influence which would cause hedging at any time.

Scope is a secret weapon in this market 👀
